Almost anything mentioning Nigeria anywhere is 99% chance to be a scammer, so why the hell do they even tell you they are from Nigeria?

Anyway, once you have a tracking number and you've sent him the tracking number that means he knows the goods are out of your hands and on the way to him. Then all he has to do is not pay you and enjoy his goods. That's their classic MO. Never ever ever ever ever ever send them an item without having confirmed payment.

And by confirmed payment he means 100% confirmed, and gone through the banks waiting period. That's the other MO of the Nigerian scams, the scammer will send what initially looks like a legitimate payment but after a week or two the banks will reverse it after determining it was some type of counterfeit or other bogus payment method. At that point the bank will take the money back from you and if you don't still have it they will hold you responsible for it.

Yes, I'm well aware of these scams. I used to get e-mails all the time from African countries. That was actually my initial thoughts, then eBay confirmed payment was received, and the phony PayPal e-mail had me a bit fooled. I only ship US so it wouldn't have matter though. But I'm glad I experienced this now vs a few months down the road where it could've ended up really drawing me back (had I fallen for it, of course).
