Hello guys
If you only want to know what this journey is all about, without all that not-straight-to-the-point-motivation-background stuff, just skip 'till the end
What happend to my last journey?
It's been some time since my last update on my last journey (read it if you want, but you don't have to and it does not contain a lot of useful information). Well, my last journey was crap. I read a lot here before I started it, but I failed. Nevertheless, taking action was the best I could've done. I was experienced in creating websites, but SEO was never a part of that. So I started this journey and was full of motivation, but had a lack of experience. I bought hosting, bought a domain and got some keywords.
Than came all the mistakes that did let my last project fail.
What am I going to do now?
Well, after all those lessons I've learnt I'm going to give it a second try! I was foolish enough to start a journey without a lot of very important knowledge, so why shouldn't I start a second one when I'm much more experienced now? That's like training for Olympia because you think you can do it but you realize you are simply too bad and you really overestimated yourself. But you are stronger then because you fuckin' trained and than you won't give up, then you are going to train more and get better and better until you reap your goals. That is most likely the worst comparison ever but fuck it, it was even hard for me to word it in english
I'm not going to hop to another method now, I will continue with SEO and websites until I'm able to reap all the fruits I've been working for so hard. The most people earn good money, because they master anything, I'm willing to become a SEO expert over the time. I know that I'm really far away from being an expert, but anyone has started small and everyone has failed atleast once while climbing up the ladder. I'm really determined now and I will stick to that project until it fucking works!
So, back to the journey now, I already sounded like one of those motivational gurus lol.
What did I already do?
From now on I will update with all the steps I do and post updates on visitors, earnings, serps and content.
For the beginning we plan to only rank with content, I will maybe start backlinking once i feel comfortable with the amount of content we have but not seeing the expected results.
First stats:
Content: 3.639 Words
Visitors: 0
Earnings: 0
Serps:
Out of 16 keywords I wanted to rank, Serpbook actually says:
Top 20: 1
Top 30: 4
Top 100: 14
I'm totally fine with this stats for a completely new website
We'll see how things continue in the future!
Thanks to everyone who reads the full text, I don't know how but I wrote 1500 words about me beeing a noob lol

- These keywords were shit. I did not know it back then, because I had no experience in keyword research and trusted Keywordrevealer, which said that this keyword would be low competition. I had a bad feeling from the beginning, but I were to naive. These keywords did not even had buyer intent and were good for ecommerce stores, but not for affiliate sites. They had huge authority sites on first page I could have never been able to beat at this time.
- I did not make a plan on what type of content I would need. I did not think about what topics to cover in the articles. I simply took my main keyword and gave it to my writer for every article.
- Another problems that comes hand in hand with point 2: keyword cannibalization. I just had a bunch of 5 keywords that were used in nearly every article on my site. That was so wrong and i actually thought that would be helpful in any ways lol.
- I created an english affiliate site. English is not my native language and it's far away from being good enough to write decent content by myself. So I had to spend money on content, but I did not have much money. So I actually bought shit content I could have been able to write by myself. Additionally, without enough money to buy a lot of content, I ended up with like 7-8000 words on that page. And I was actually trying to crack in 2 niches with that.
- Bad Siloing. I tried to structure my site like a Silo, but because of that lack of cotent and structure I actually had empty pages that were part of that Silo, could not have been worse.
- My on-page was not on point. Starting from this really really bad keyword density and usage going over to empty pages getting indexed etc. The categories I added were mostly empty pages and they got indexed thats really weird and I should have blocked them from getting indexed. Additionally I got my legal disclosure and privacy statement and other things indexed which is not really useful.
- I had no solid plan for linkbuilding. Well, I was actually a bit lost. I read some guides on linkbuilding, but always thought that I would not be able to do it that good and that it would be much easier to use some good linkbuilding services. So I bought some linkbuilding services from the marketplace here. I actually send the most crappiest 5$ backlinks to my money site with like 20% exact match because there were like 5 fields for keyword and I gave no special instructions to the seller. My linkbuilding was the biggest disaster of all, it was not natural in any ways and i'm still shocked that my site has not been penalized yet.
- My site looked ugly as. That did not matter in any ways, because I had like 5 UV a day at the best times, but it was really bad. I did choose an useful amazon affiliate theme, was happy that it was easy to implement products and reviews and chose the best looking predesigned template of the template. That was a shame, because the site looked really ugly and I've been doing frontend development for like 2 years now. Shame on me! I simply was too lazy to get my hands dirty and take a deeper look into the ways you can modify wordpress themes.

What did I already do?
- I picked a niche. It's much more better than the niche i focused on in my last journey. The products in this niche range from 15-150$, but they are more likely to be sold on amazon.
- I picked a domain. I did not spend to much time on that. It's hard for me to find good expired domains in my national tld so I simply went with a new one.
- I picked hosting. I actually went for the price. In the beginning, with no real traffic, I won't have any performance problems.
- Installed Wordpress and optimized it. Google Page Insights gives it good grades for performance and for the nearest location at the pingdom check i get loading times far below 1 second.
The website is increadible fast, what even shocked me too tbh. - Did proper onsite optimization. I did everything you can simply do without any content. I followed all guides from experts like phpbuilt and did everything as good as I can. The website is way more optimized than the old one.
- Made a plan on how to categorize and structure all the content, will be very useful in the future
- Spend fucking hours doing proper keyword research. Everything has a buyer intent now and should be kinda low competition.
- Made a plan on which keywords to add in which article. This prevents myself from doing keyword cannibalization like in the last journey.
- My girlfriend and me started to write the content. Got like 4k right now. She helps me by writing content and it's pretty awesome because its really decent because she'll study our language and is an experienced writer
- I checked keyword density on all articles and added all important on page factors for each one, except of videos and pictures.
- Did some basic interlinking between the already existing articles
- Submitted the already existing articles to the big G
From now on I will update with all the steps I do and post updates on visitors, earnings, serps and content.
