This thread is for the discussion of YouTube and its purges. Tell us about your experience with losing subscribers and how many you lost and why or how.

I lost about 18 so far and I fear there is going to be more!

Is there a purge today? Ive lost 1 currently on my new main channel. In the past I've lost around 1-2,000 on my main account.

Im not really too worried since my subscribers are authentic.

I lost around 30-40 subs the past 3-4 days. Idk if it's a purge or subs just leaving on their own lol.

I have around 10k real subs (not bought). I get around 150 a day on average.

Every couple weeks or so I'll wake up and check my subs and see that I've dropped 50-100 or so. It happens, pretty regularly. I just assume its YouTube doing its regular thing.

Its a channel for kids. I have a 3 year old son. We play with toys (although more often than not its just me, he gets distracted, lol). I average 200k to 250k views a day.

I don't buy subs, no. Those should be obtained organically. Subs are a total vanity metric and don't seem to affect YouTube's positioning of your videos in search results. You need *actual* subscribers, as in people who are interested in your content and will come back and give you views.

Initially when I started, I bought views. I still do on occasion although its less and less these days. The honest truth is that I got lucky with a video early on -- it got several million views. After that, YouTube perceived my channel as being good/healthy and now I'm noticing it gives my videos a decent shot when I upload.

To be honest I'm not sure if buying views even works anymore. I think a few months ago it did, but after all these YouTube updates, nada. I've had videos with 0 purchased views go crazy and become super popular. I've funneled 50k views into other videos that received zero organic traffic once the views finished. So who knows. I'd love to hear from people who say otherwise.

One of the reasons for a purge in subscribers is when a channel has subscribers from bot accounts. I am not saying this is the reason for all subscriber purges but it will account for a certain percentage which is why it's best that the subscribers of your channel are from real accounts gained either naturally or by Subscriber Jacking http://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/ex...-subscribers-and-1-000s-of-real-views.835605/

for my experience, views still do work but w/e video you're promoting should have quality. There's also always the luck factor too

But when you first started how many views would you pump into a video to get it started 10-30k? And did you buy likes and comments if so please let us know how many also.
