For a complete beginner, I recommend this:

I know it says 2015, but the fundamentals haven't changed, and a beginner doesn't need to be worrying about Scrapebox and GSA SER. They need to be focusing on On-Page SEO and other technical aspects of a proper site build. Don't build your house on sand, basically.

It goes into server based stuff like Robots.txt, .htaccess, and also Schema Markup, Open Graph and Knowledge Graph protocols, the works. Basically everything from beginner to advanced except link-building, which will keep you from shooting yourself in the foot.

Good luck on your journey. You're lucky/unfortunate to be starting this late in the evolution of the industry.

Read the sticky threads in this forum. They would be far better than any ebook you would purchase. Then read the threads of this forum to get more ideas. Last, search in Google for anything that is left. Some information would always contradict with the other as different people will have different opinions in the forum or elsewhere but then you will learn more by experimenting and learning from mistakes.

Honestly, there isn't much of a need for you to read a e-book. The information you can find on BHW will teach you SEO and will be much more up to date. Like others have said, spend some time on this site, ask questions, and try out techniques. Good luck!
