Godaddy asking for scanned ID!

hehe, this happened with me only once when I was filling a form for getting admission in University, and in place of my father's name it was my name i was like wtf, how did that happen?
from that time i'm being more careful

UPDATE
I uploaded my ID proof, but then they asked for a proof which showed that the account I used for payment is mine. I had no choice so I uploaded a scanned copy of my card, and they unblocked my account. The only problem is that those morons removed the domain and now I have to purchase it again.:damnit:
So, I anyhow registered the domain at the same price of $2.17, even though the old coupon wasn't working
so everything's cool now.

they always validate if credit name and account name are different

Hi BHW members,
A few days ago I purchased a domain from Godaddy and they are now asking me to upload scanned ID to unlock my account. I don't know why they did that, but I'm in a dilemma because I entered a different country in the registrar's address and used a phone number from that country
I don't know what should I do now. Should I upload my normal (residence country) ID and will they unblock my account if I do so?
I purchased domains from them using the same info last year and they didn't ask for any verification.

YES Asking ID who ever names is not associated with American Name, or Any Domain signed in with foreign names or If you are an account holder within a few web clients of yours, They will starting to looking for reason if anything related scam. For example, I have clients I purchase domain name for them, They do not know how to open account, Go Daddy and similar many websites got bunch of confusing links, most people do not know where to click, I open account for them, Pay it then finished the website and charge them. Plus It is good to do like that, I give them right to access to their own accounts, G.D forbid something happens to me, How they will proof it? Any How GoDaddy see my name in different accounts, payee is different accounts with same credit card, after that, I opened my own account cause wanted to buy a domain for my own name to sale later. Uppss They block my account asking for ID, I send it. I have receipt, credit card charge plus they sending monthly report to email. If anything happens my domain name, Then I will go to legal way. It is a jungle out there. I purchase Domain Name sometimes hosting from GoDaddy since 1996, They still want to know who I am??? Ridiculous.
