Okay i just thought of something stupid, but the idea is to set up a product that you created on amazon. that product i would sell for 1000$, lets say its a hammer, and i have my friend buy the hammer through my other friend affiliate link. 80-100$ profit.

Well it's not illegal to buy stuff from your own affiliate links, and even if it is on some programs they wouldn't do anything about it, but in this example I would assume Amazon would earn more than you do on the affiliate program.
