There are many tools to check the keyword competition.
You need to check the googles top 10 competitors sites metrics.
There are many rules to choose the best low competition keywords, we should look on competitors PA, MOZ, Backlinks and Social sharing, etc.
Here is sample competitors analysis report. If you can see the same result for any keywords on your niche, definitely can get top ranking in 3 to 5 weeks depends on SEO.

Sir, that competition is for PPC only.
semrush and long tail keyword pro have keyword difficulty metrics.
I check on how many pages are competing for keyword by doing google search allintitle:keyword
you can also use market samurai, it shows what the above image showing. value are shown in Y N format so 3 out of 6 are Y means rankable.
This is from old version but it has remained the same.

While that's definitely part of the equation, keyword competition analysis involves something more than that.
You also have to pay attention to the nature of theme of the keywords.
It may seem that a lot of these websites are targeting the same keywords as you, but you have to look at the intent behind those keywords.
It may turn out, that for a certain range of intents or consumer decisions, you might not have that much competition at all.
A lot of people tend to overlook this fact.

Folks, Keyword Planner shows competition in AdWords.
So don't use it to check the competition for SEO. Use SEMrush or Serpstat or any other tool, their results are based on the number of results in search rather than number of advertisers who bid on a keyword at a certain time.

Don't use keyword planner to check for competition, it won't work... The competition is for advertiser to bid on the keyword, not competition level of the top 10 website on google. Please don't mislead others.

More tools are used to find the difficulties of the keywords and can also find the best keywords that searched in Google or Bing whatever it may be. Some tools are SEMrush, Keyword finder etc.

Hmm , I found that a lot of people don't really know the basic of keyword research , because information on the Internet is all over the place.
I have purchase from quite a few vendors and even premium keyword service provider provide the wrong keyword which will be a big disaster if you going to rank them.
I have read dozen of keyword research article over the Internet but seems like they cover most of it but still lack of information here and there which i found it is hard when I am trying to teach my friends on it.
I am seriously considering to start my own online marketing blog which compiles all the things I would consider as important and of coz will earn by affiliates and provide some services .
Guys , give me a thumbs up if you guys are interested. That will give me motivation to work on it. Of coz most of the information will be provided for free

When i was beginner i used it and it's convenient to me so i suggested, but now i have using SEMRUSH its more helpful to me...

Yes it is good tool , but the main thing is the difficulty in it is not the same as keyword competition level when you try to rank via SEO. It means the advertising bidding competition level instead
