Can't cash in my amazon cheque

Hey everyone,

Last friday, I went to my bank in austria to cash in my amazon cheque, and everything went fine. They told me I should have the money by monday.

Today I got a call from my bank, and now they tell me they will no longer cash in cheques coming from the US because of a new law that gives the US bank the right to take back their money, without reason and without time restriction. They also told me that because of this, no bank here would accept the cheque.

I have no US bank account, and while I already send a support ticket, I wonder if there's anything I can do? Also, is it true that such a law got passed? It seems even too insane for the US.

I sure hope this won't spell the end of amazon affiliate marketing for me. :/

Amazon will refund you through paypal.

Yeah... go with paypal... add me on skype and I can sort you out with a VCC verified paypal account if u want. If u don't want to go through paypal then simply contact amazon visit phone or live chat and see what they can offer you.

I already have a paypal account, but amazon told me that I can only get paid via cheque or giftcard. -_-

Or are they wrong with that?

Worst case scenario - take giftcards and sell or order something you could sell later locally (iPhones, Macs, etc)
They used to approve Payoneer since it's US based bank account. But you would need to fake your address to something US based. That's a moral point but should work.

On topic I never had problems with cheques so far.

Seriously guys if you are posting crap just to up your spot count you are doing it all wrong. Amazon does NOT do paypal and Wire transfers is for US resident ONLY. Clearly you guys have no clue how it works.. you are not helping OP, at all.

Anyway, I live in Canada and I am having a similar problem ; My bank is "freezing" US cheques for 21 business days now and I was told that it might extend to 40 business days starting August. iPinner got a great idea, either get the gift cards, purchase something on amazon and resell it (with losses) or get a Payoneer account with fake info(risky). Another solution would be to find an insta-cheque (guess it would be named a different way in your country) who can cash US cheques. They take up to 15% fee's but at least you'll get paid. Good thing is they are not banks.

There is no need to fake USA address for Payoneer. Just get US Payment service. You will be allocated with a USA bank account for accepting payment from USA. You will get immediate ACH deposit directly to your Payoneer account. Amazon is also actively promoting Payoneer to its affiliate. Don't ask the Amazon support as they are basically outsource team that replies with standard template. I know because I am doing this. Payoneer will ask you for the site that you promote amazon product as proof of business activities.

Majority of people here have no clue and some are just trying to increase post count.

Payoneer works and I've been using it for months now.

Open an account,apply for US banking service and use that with your amazon acc.

I am in Europe and I've been paid without problem so far.

For US residents: Check (rest of the world let these go back in the stoneage), Wire transfer, Payoneer, maybe more alternatives.

in many countries it is common practice to hold the payment for upto 40 days.
anyway you can contact amazon support and ask them to cancel the cheque in question and pay you using another method.

You can provide EIN in replace of SSN for taxation purposes. If you are unsure check with an accountant based in USA on this.

I know, that is why Payoneer is for non-US citizens, it is not a direct wire transfer. You fill in the standard tax forms when signing on for Amazon Associates by the way. You do not need to be a US citizen to provide tax information, we have tax forms in Europe too
