If you're not a Mac person and also would not want to put about $1000 into a Laptop, then you are like me. Some Laptop are generally overated and considering the fact that Apple owns the souls of Americans, you better stay off of that shit, any Apple product is an NSA server in the long run for me, cos nothing you do is secure or private, just like the phone. Samsung is another one following that suit as they have been made to comply with some information sharing BS from the Gov't.

With that being said, I'm not specifically saying that Windows is safe, but I wouldn't put $1000 on some brand name, what I would do, just like what I did this week on my most recent laptop, I would buy atleast an 8GB ram or 6GB with standard i5 or i7 processors and whatever you like in size for HDD, cos that ends up being your external storage device and your virtual system anytime you travel and would not take your system with you. So, get a laptop of maybe $500 open box or new at any store, get a samsung or crucial 500gb SSD or lower, swap out your HDD for the SSD, add extra RAM if needed, SSD and Ram should come to about $300, do a clone of your HDD to SSD, open laptop sway them out and you got a system as fast and responsive than typing your password.

I would advice, always do a backup on the HDD, get a USB 3.0 to 2.5 SATA Hard Drive adapter with case, got that for $9.99 at Fry's, put HDD is there and all you need to do when your are out and need to work, get on any system or laptop, change boot order, restart with your HDD pluged in and you can post new articles on your blog, website, spam facebook, tumbler, pinterest or whatever you do.

What laptop model did you use? Quite frankly, I am surprised, because Lenovo has been absolutely amazing for me for the past 3 years.

I'm not that into laptops that I go into model numbers and shit. I have bought three high end Lenovos and they have all fell apart. No durability at all. I used to tend to travel a lot. But after one year you would expect more than three screws remaining in the piece of shit. Performance wise, Yeah. But durability, a fucking joke.

Thought it was just me being a rough cunt with them, but my friend said the same the other day and he is a southern fairy.

Check out the Sagers on xoticpc.com, or they offer MSI as well. They build/customize to your exact order, and handle the warranty/repair themselves. They've been around forever, check em out. I have my Sager from them

I have used all my life windows and last September I decided to buy a Macbook Air and I think that's my best decision until now Lenovo have perfect performance but I have heard that their durability is ew, as well as the bugs. I had an Acer i3 4GB RAM - relatively shitty PC but it was nice. Don't go for Sony or Yoga tabs, they have lots of issues.

Macbook. The build quality is awesome. I've been using Macbooks since 2007 and haven't found anything else that comes close in the windows or linux world in terms of quality and stability.

Another thing I like about Macbooks is that they run really cool, you can have one on your lap for hours and not notice the heat coming from it.

A gaming laptop should give you exactly what you want hon. Just pick one. They're built to run like beasts. I love Asus myself, but that's just my preference.

Mac Books are only good for wanting to impress your friends and showing off how much of a hipster you are. So much mental loops you have to go though to justify owning one rather than just getting a much more powerful gaming laptop that crushes the macbook in everything. It will be heavier but laptop weight hasn't been an issue for years, a petite woman can carry around a 9lb laptop all day without any issue its not like the early 1980's when laptops were 25lbs and more.

Get mac if you want simplicity, but letting you know, you wont be able to run any bots and such on a mac. Even a better option would be to build a pc yourself. for 1k you can build a freakin beast! And its not that hard. Look into dell and asus laptops and look at the ghz. The higher the ghz the faster the laptop is. I have 4.2 ghz pc i build myself, never overheats amazing graphics, and extremly fast, and only cost 500. Imagine what you can build for 1k. Go on youtube and search up 1000$ gaming/work pc build. It only takes an hour to build a pc!
P.S never get a HP laptop one of the shittiest ones in the world only thing its good for is browsing the internet,not downloading or running anything.

After 2nd year, due to some motherboard problems (quite common to some yoga users) that causes screen to be unable to turn on. Sent to service center 3 times within 3 months and finally got it resolved. This is the only problem i have faced. I am considering Mac as well now.
Overall it is good and fast for normal works, didn't try gaming thou.

This is one of those recommendations that are 2,000% dependent on living in a first world country, i.e. markets big enough to warrant customer service centers.

I'd go for a HP or Dell mobile workstation. I also love IBM Thinkpad one but since they were sold for China, I prefer staying away from them.
