Anybody tested article length effects?

Keeping all other factors aside, Google would prefer a 600-word, 1,000-word or 2,000-word article?

I remembered a guy who did an experiment with 500, 1000, 2000 etc words and compared the ranking between those articles. And you guessed it: more words tend to rank better. Especially if it is full of information which tend to be shared more

Keyword density plays a major role. Write Original content, because your content is worthy while posting. Don't use same keyword for all posting. Try to prepare your article in short, not more than 800 words.

Longer the better, especially for main / pillar articles. That being the case, quality over quantity, so ensure there's not tons of fluff and filler, ensure keyword density is capped and that the article is good for the human reader and not just written for search engines ( unless this is a Tier 2 site ).

Try to be smart with Google and you'll get where you want.
