Many will jump on him and call him out and say he was scared to right Diaz again, some will say he was scared off after his fellow Irishman died recently. Myself I think the guy is smart and most likely this is just a clever marketing tactic and he will be back, although he could be sitting down drinking beers laughing at everyone with millions in the bank and watching Mr White squirm whilst he watches the ratings drop.

It was Conor that insisted the rematch was at 170lbs, the same as the first fight... They didn't even do the first fight at 170lbs because of conor, they fought at that weight because Diaz couldn't make weight in 2 weeks.

Just looking at his overall record in MMA it's 19-3 so that's not much better than average. If he had gone 20-4 which is probably what he expected then that would be a 20% losing ratio which is poor. Shows how much you know about him. He's lost before and said it made him a better fighter. He's said it in plenty of interviews as well. After the Diaz fight he was saying that he's hungry to redeem himself while still showing face.

He was training in Iceland and UFC wanted him in the US for promos and he said no. The guy pulled insane marketing schedules, flew to LA to promote the fights while others didn't, and he wanted to just train for this fight. UFC said you can't not show up to press events and he got taken off the card.

He made his cheese and knows what he's worth and what he's done for the company. He took bums making 40k to 6-figure payouts, while making himself and the UFC a lot of money.
