I am no Meathead but seasonal sales will drive you nuts. There's no point of putting in the same effort as all of us and then only getting half of the rewards. Keep looking.

Finding your niche should be fast and simple. Please read 'Phase 1 - Choosing a Niche' from Meathead's original post. Don't overthink this too much. Remember, you are looking for a BROAD category that has plenty of products (roughly 20 or more) in the desired price range ($50-$1000) that you're trying to promote/review.

Once you get your site up and running with quality original content, then you can start another website that is built off of a lower competition niche. For this you will want to do more extensive keyword research. Again, low competition is great but it will not matter as much with Meathead's method. This will become more apparent with the next phases where driving traffic to your website will be discussed. Focus for now on getting that website built and getting your unique content posted on it.

I wouldn't necessarily say that having 2 other pages would mess things up, but it indicates that you are not following Meathead's method properly. For the purposes of this exercise, You are looking to create 1 single 'pillar page' and from there, link to several (4 - 9) posts. This is a common format that bloggers use and this is essentially what you are trying to create - a blog that is run by a 'person' or 'persons' (think of the About Me or About Us page that you were asked to create).

Meathead is giving us a recipe. Follow the recipe as he lays it out and you will have success. If you try and change the recipe, then you are kinda on your own. Now go bake that cake!

With all the discussion concerning the 'advertising fee' table and to stay away from 'electronics' because of the fixed 4% fee, it might be a good idea for a small segway into what generally is considered 'electronics'. Obviously, a BluRay player would fall into that (or maybe even into the 2% 'Television products' category)... but what about a slow cooker or an elliptical machine that include electrical control panels?

I figure a bit more elaboration into how it would appear Amazon categorizes their products would be a good idea. Are 'television products' just TVs, or does that include DVD and BluRay players? What in general do they consider 'electronic products' etc

I suggest you put the ecommerce section before the article on homepage. Which means articles for seo, ecommerce for visitors.
 
Can someone help me with the Amazon affiliate disclaimer? I didn't really got it.
Do i need to write it on the bottom on my site, or should i write a "privacy policy" page, and include it in it?

Please see the following two images to see in which Amazon Department Blu-Ray stands:

See the top line in Fig 1, it says "Electronics", and also see the left-hand-side menu where the relation is clear: Blu-Ray Players fall under the Electronics Department. So...

So you see, for getting the Amazon advertising fees (commission, in short) the department is Electronics Products. The second image shows you that the Electronics Department products will get you only 4% commission on each item from that department you're able to "sell"!

And...
Being a Fixed Rate Advertising Fee product category, even if you sell 3,200 BluRay players in any one month, you'll ONLY get a fixed 4% commission on those confirmed sales, and not the 8.5% commission rate as the numbers (3,200 units sold) should give you for the general category products.

P.S.:
The number of items you sell from such Fixed List category will be counted along with other General category products where you get commission according to the following table in Fig 3. But, every Fixed Rate type item will get only the Fixed rate of commission attached to its department and that total will be added to the other sub total of the commission you will get for selling the General category products (volume-based commission rate as mentioned in the following image, Fig 3):

This seems like a really worthwhile method but as a non-US resident, getting paid by check from Amazon is a nightmare. I would get my first payment in about 4 months and all sorts of commissions would take a hefty chunk out of it.

Is there any other possible way to receive Amazon payments?

I already gave an easy fix for this, go back 1 or 2 pages and you will see for yourself
 
I seriously would love to try this, doing something similar but going for an authority site , my site has been up for 1 month small profit yet but I'm going for SEO long term earnings so it's to be expected not to earn in the first 1-2 months.Unfortunately I don't have the capital to pay for +2 months of hosting & buy a domain to try this but I would love to, I don't even mind writing content. Perhaps once my site start making money I'll be able to try.Good luck to everyone trying this and remember NEVER QUIT. You already bought the domain, at least put it to use and try to follow his guide step by step, it doesn't even sound hard.Thanks for this Meathead!
