I am interested in this service; but a little nervous because it's not a "money" website as such; more a longer term investment. I've had the website running for about 3 years now, and we've got some okay traffic (nothing crazy) but really want to be competitive in the field of technology / video games.

Hi EWGFX3, Yes, it would be safe. You could even do some light backlinking at first. If it's more of a long term thing and your not necessarily worried about getting it to the top of the rankings right away then that would be a good approach.
