After 4 Months Still Not Ranking Well

Hey everyone, a lot of useful information here that I try to put to use. I am currently struggling with my ranking and I don't know how to improve it. All of the domain I'm competing against are very old and their website is terrible. I have about 4 months and built 2-3 natural organic backlinks to my website from local blogger and a very popular blog in my city that gave me good exposure. However, I am still not ranking well for my brand name and keywords that I want. I am lost and don't know what to do, I've tried to implement on-page optimizations to the best of my ability with keywords that I want and still I see no results.

Does this mean I have to go into blackhat tactics? Buy up some of these PBN and build up my website?

Any tips or advice will be highly appreciate, I am just getting very frustrated and not sure what else I can do. I've tried content creation, organic outreach for links, and useful content but it is still not gaining traction.


*I also should add that my website is selling a product. It is not like a news site or blog site where I can write up a lot of content everyday and fill up the landing page. However, I do have a "blog" component on my website that I'm trying to use that area to improve my website keywords and every blog article is about 500-1.5k words.

How is the competition?
How much content do you have?
What's your keyword density?
What's your link velocity?

I have 2 backlinks to my main website.
Competition for my keywords is high. But in general my industry has tons of old domains and old outdated website designs that's not responsive and looks like they're from the early 2000's.
In terms of the landing page, the content I have is low word count and more product images and links to those products that have descriptions that are also relatively low. Under 300 words.
Keyword density for everything is also relatively low, most are repeated less than three times. However, I've interlinked them a lot.
Link Velocity is very low. Maybe 1 link every 4 weeks? (First time I heard this term I believe this has something to do with amount of backlinks per x y z time frame?) I sometimes get non link factors like a newsletter linking to my website for example.

My current landing page DA is 5 and PA 21 mR 2.58 according to moz toolbar. If this helps.

Are you trolling?
If you are not, you need more backlinks, more keyword density, more words in your article, more everything basically. You need to check your competition well, check their backlinks, DA,PA, Domain Age, TF (Competition analysis)

Nope, I wish lol. I mean when I read what I just type I know there is definitely a lot of work required but I don't really know how to build more links in an organic way. I've tried to email the suggested domains to go after from SEMRush for some links but they don't really respond back.

Hey Slow,

Welcome to forum. As a new member, I would spend some time reading up on the forum everyday. SEO takes time to learn and this is the perfect place to start. As mentioned your going to need a lot more backlinks. Also, I highly recommend you start with low-comp keywords first as it will be easier to rank for and thus, easier to get some initial success.

2-3 backlinks is nothing man. Atleast try to build some general backlinks (profile, image sharing, video sharing, few comments) to create a basic foundation.

Hey everyone, so I listened to everyone's advice and just wanted to update everyone a little bit. I have implemented some changes and optimized it more as well as adding more detailed content and started tracking the crap out of my sites with SEMRush/MOZ and I'm seeing some gains in keywords movements. However, this haven't fully translated into more traffic into my site but it is better than before where there was literally no movement at all.

I will try to build more backlinks not sure how I will go about it still but I got a quick question. Do you guys know why semrush/moz doesn't see all of the links that directs back to me? I check all the links and they don't contain any nofollow tags. Appreciate the tips and I'm trying to improve and get better, hopefully I can keep growing and update this thread with my progress lol.

Because those services aren't instant. It may take them a bit to see a link, they aren't Google.

You need better quality links mate. Many of them indeed. A couple of links would not get you ranked anywhere.

To save time go to Market Place section and buy SEO-package or SEO-link building.
They will do all the work for you. You just sit back and relax waiting for your site to climb up to the 1st page of Google.
Come on, you need to spend money to make money. Don't be cheap, okay?

Make sure you have optimized the onpage, like title tag, meta description, tag h1, page speed. Make sure that meta description of the landing pages you optimized contain keyword you targeted.

If Okay, just go for offpage, low OBL blog comment with branded anchor text, PBNs, Niche relevant Guest Posting. If you can't handle them, just buy the PBNs

OP if this is a site you don't care about and just want money, go ahead and buy links.

If it's something more personal and not just a cash source, you're going to want to:
1. Implement a good internal linking structure
2. Get your content at least 500 words per post, ideally try to reach 1000.
3. Backlink manually via profile creation, blog comments (only from relevant sources)
