How many web 2.0's do I need to rank for competitive keywords?

My competitors who rank #1 and #2 for my keyword have 60 and 408 unique domains linking to them respectively. They have 19,980 and 40,024 links (99.9% are footer links on their customer's websites) They have about the same unique IP's as they do unique domains.

I am on page 20 now and have been up to page 12 in the past 2 years but now I'm floating around page 17-20.

My site has about 680 links and 158 unique domains and 91 IPs linking to it. I've just cleaned up my links heavily.

The competitor who ranks #2 has more links and domains so that makes me think that #1 has a hidden PBN along with his visible links.

How can I out rank these two competitors with a web 2.0 network? I am diversified with all kinds of other links and I haven't started to build expired domains PBN to my site yet.

How can I use GSA to improve the PA of any web 2.0's I might build? I've been testing it on some videos and other parasite pages that link to my site and haven't seen any effect and I'm using serverified lists and the default GSA links.

Thanks in advance!

At least 100 web 2.0s for sure, I would go for 150-200 since you don't have a PBN.

Even then you would need other types of links.

You won't rank for competitive keywords. With web2.0 and GSA you will be lucky to rank a super low comp keyword on top positions.

number of 2.0s only matters if they are juiced up and pass some juice to your money site. You could build 1000 2.0s and still see no movement. Maybe your competitors have very highly targeted links from niche relevant websites in the same vertical. so that could be the reason why they are ranking at the top. Hidden PBN is always a possibility though.

Well, you have to create links from diverse sources. If you plan to build the rest of the links from web2.0 I think you will be trouble.

If you're targeting competitive keywords, you're going to do some heavy lifting.

Usually with Web 2.0, you need volume to rank.

However, there are tricks to turbo charging the link you should get from Web 2.0.

By building multiple tiers and buying high quality links to blast quality link juice to certain parts of your multi-tiered system, you can increase your rankings.

There is no magic formula, so nobody can give you exactly how many web 2.0 links you need to rank competitive keywords.

What I can tell you, however, is that you shouldn't expect this to happen overnight.

You need to continue to build quality Web 2.0 links over an extended period of time until you achieve a breakthrough.

This is going to be a marathon not a sprint.

I haven't been SEOing this site since around 2006, so now everything has changed... I used to have 170,000 links... I recently did a link cleanup as well, so I'm starting over.

It's not true that their isn't a magic formula. There is! It's just that not many know it. For PBN's I believe that you have to get the same or more # of unique domains (all else being equal). For web2.0 I have no idea and the only people who know it are the ones who've done it and they aren't talking because they are making millions from it.

All of their links (99.9999%) come from footer links on their customer's pages. Which seems like a good way to build a PBN for free.

I'm still searching for people who have ranked for super competitive keywords (more competitive than payday loans) using web2.0 as the main source of links.

Of course I have other links, I'm not stupid, but Google can find out what type of links you have easily, even if you hide them with htaccess. You're not fooling anyone at Google.

Still looking for the answer to this...

Your problem is that you said you want to boost the PA of your web 2.0s.

PA is not an official metric and therefore means absolutely nothing.

You can increase the strength of all your links by building contextual links to your tier ones from related sources.

Want to increase your Web 2.0 metrics? Feed GSA SER a list of high PA(since this is what you're interested in) domains.

Sometimes even 100, 200 Web 2.0 will not be handful to rank your site. Try PBN and other link building services to boost your rank among the competitors.

I never said I wanted to boost the PA of anything. I don't even use MOZ metrics I usually use Majestic's TF/CF and PR.

I'm playing around with GSA and verified lists linking to videos and parasite pages, press releases, and not seeing any effect at all. I usually see an immediate effect when I use blog comments from scrapebox.

yeah I know that PBN will work, but to get a 300 unique domain PBN I'm looking at $5,000-$10,000 just to buy the domains, and $300-$1000 month to host them... so if I could do it with web2.0's it would be better! that's why I'm asking...

Dude, lets be real, it won't happen. Back in 2013-2014 then probably yes, now you won't be able to rank that level of competitiveness with web 2.0s as main source of links.

Is that position 12 highest or page 12 highest? If it is page 12 highest after 2 years I would call it day and find another niche!

probably the best advice, but I moved from a smaller city where I was ranking #1 to a major city to see if I can do it... but it looks like in the major city I have to spend $10k+ on my PBN to rank

that's what it looks like so far from my testing over the past few months, nothing is moving sites up except PBNs
