Aren't we in IM. Shouldn't we be the one who should be discouraging adblock and those kind of plugins and scripts.
For me, it is like Facebook saying 'Social Media is a waste of time'
yes, this always comes up here and i see where you're coming from, but what others said, those people who use adblockers are less likely to click on your ads even when they aren't using adblockers, so it's practically a loss of revenue which you never were intended to have in the first place
instead of being against adblock and constantly whining because of it, what we should really do is suggest webmasters to use less intrusive ads, flash ads and 10 popups, so there will be no need for adblockers, but i guess it's already a losing game, because people who use adblockers will never cease to use them
an adblocker is the first thing i install on a browser when i do a re-install (especially on my mother's machine, who's a little bit clueless about the dangers of clicking on places where she shouldn't), an adblocker is a lot more nowadays than just an adblocker, it's organic part of the antivirus system, because a lot of these ads are infested with adware/malware/tracking cookies and i prefer to keep those out, plus these annoying flash ads which have sound too are not the easiest on your resources either, i prefer them to be blocked too
it was those webmasters who fucked it up who use these annoying ads and they fucked it up for everyone, for those too who only use a lot less intrusive Adsense ads
but you can circumvent adblock plus in some cases, if you try those tricks, which you can find in those 2 threads i posted above
btw i just read an article about an adblocker-blocker blocker

, it works on all major browsers:
http://thenextweb.com/apps/2016/02/11/around-and-around-we-go/
https://github.com/reek/anti-adblock-killer
these adblocker-blocker blockers are also just an answer to an issue which came to life when adblocker-blocker scripts/plugins were born, closing out all users from your site who uses an adblocker isn't the best approach, ask them (nicely) to disable their adblockers, yes, it's a lot more likeable and they may click on a few of your ads, but if you close out everyone - unless you're wikipedia or some authority site -, adblock users will just close the site and never come back, because they can find your content elsewhere
