My Competitor website ranking very well without backlinks How?

Hi All,

I know a person and he had a website(2 years old) with no backlinks, no on-page SEO(even no meta tags really) and no 301 redirects but his website is ranking very well and the keyword had high number of monthly searches (8,00,000 searches). Had had exact match keyword domain and when i search in google for the same keyword, his website is no where in first 10 pages but still his website had very good results and below is the screen shot from similarweb.com. but i'm sure people won't type directly the exact match keyword since it is not .com website and not a single word.

grate blog content with grate traffic sourse ...

dont forget traffic also part of seo ,if the site is busy there
postion in the seach engine is heigher then yours fact.....

Hidden PBN. Next time you find someone like that - try googling his brand name or naked URL and see what you come up with.

Yea its quite simple to hide backlinks from competitors, just gotta block the bots from the major backlink crawlers via .htaaccess. Keeps your competitors from actually copying your ranking strategy.

Thanks for all your replys and i used Ahref and majestic also all tools gives the same results and with few PBN links can we able to rank well with such high number of monthly searches with huge competition?

As i know him he is not much aware of PBNs and he use paid traffic (Adwords). is this the reason for website ranking well?

Traffic does somehow alter the SERPs, the way people behave on your site while using Chrome browser definitely has an effect though I've never really nailed it down to something I could use.

Just like one say here, google his domain and see pages that will show, probably hidden pbn or just old domain with good traffic and low bounce rate...

Not just that, Google also does a URL rewrite on click so they are recording your search session as well.

So they see you searching for "dog food" then opening URL1, then URL2 then URL3 and that tells them you've found what you are looking for or given up trying.

I am sure they aren't yet using any of this as I've tried lots of things to try to game it. But they are collecting data and they will use it at some point for sure.

SimilarWeb metrics are quite inaccurate. Don't rely on them. I have a website that gets 15K visits a month. SimilarWeb says its 200K.

You should check the website in SEMrush and see which keywords he ranks for. I will be very surprised if as you say, that he get's a lot of traffic from search, but does not rank in the first 10 pages for the exact match domain keyword. I have a feeling that you will find out that he actually does not nearly as much traffic as SimilarWeb suggests

Finally, if it is a cloaked PBN, you might be able to see the links by typing "link:website.com" in Google search and see if anything shows up. PBN cloakers will hide from all the known crawlers, but obviously not from Google.

Haha yes its the same with me.
You should def check it over Semrush and Ahref though they are not that accurate in some spots.
but can provide you a brief idea.

PNB backlinks give you this much power. in some cases you can`t find them with regular ahrefs, majestic..etc

I'm true site is not in top 100 but getting good traffic, even the owner only told me like he is getting very good traffic but he didn't shared any other details with me. That's why i'm very curious how he is getting such lot traffic.

One thing i can know is i saw the site in google ads so many times.

If anyone want's to help me i send PM the site URL.

Even i have similar site and i'm expecting country specific traffic. Any of your suggestions for ranking my website will much appreciate.

Well then it is... ads... maybe he give a lot of money for ads but even get good ROI, I have little time if wanna pm me domain will chk a little and suggest what I think.
