Thanks to Jared255 for opening this thread.
Should I buy some BTC ?
Any suggestion?
If I was to invest a bit of money into bitcoin, what would you guys suggest the amount should be ? Does it need to a be 1 full BTC or can it be just a percentage of it ?
Good question, I would like to know this too?
If you want to play it safe, do not invest a large amount at one time, bitcoins price will fluctuate, it is wiser to spread out your investment instead of jumping in all at once. If you can afford 1 BTC a week, then do that, if not then invest whatever you can every week, be it $25, $50, $100, and wait for a ripe opportunity to make a larger investment (buy low). This will protect you from unforeseen loses.
At this very moment bitcoin has significantly dropped in price which could be great for newcomers, but at the same time it could have ruined those who went all in at $470/ $500, the latest peak.
I highly suggest to read this article which came out today. It is already at 1.2k shares after another 3 hours.
This should be the reason of the down-trend today:
These are the reasons I won't invest in Bitcoin for now. It would be to much of a bet.
That's definitely part of the reason, the bitcoin xt fork between developers has been known by a select group and those interested enough to find out for a while now, Satoshi mentioned it in August of 2015 and it has not been publicized much since then.
The other reason for the down trend today, and fluctuations probably for the next week is Crypsty, the cryptocurrency trading platform declaring bankruptcy due to a hack that lost 13,000 BTC and 300,000 LTC (Millions of $).
Millions of people were trading with Cryptsy as they were the largest platform for cryptocurrency exchange since MTGox. There have been a lot of problems being reported and countless amounts of the reports are from users having issues withdrawing from them in the past few months.
