Just bought some BTC

but I don't think cryptocurrency is, or ever will be the "currency of the future".

I'd say cryptocurrency will definitely be the future. Not saying Bitcoin will be, but almost every single bank is investing R&D into "blockchain technology". To make blockchain technology work, it needs some kind of token of value. My opinion is, the main reason people don't like bitcoin is because it's a token of value they can't control. Banks are used to having the control. They may just issue their own cryptocurrencies on the blockchain, although it will be federated and not decentralized like bitcoin.

Substituting the word cryptocurrency for digital currency also makes more sense.

I didn't know much about BTC earlier. After reading these all post of this thread, Now, learned something.

Should I buy some BTC ?
Any suggestion?
It's up to you dude. If you have spare money go for it, but first read more about BTC if you are new to cryptocurrencies.

[snip]
will never become mainstream enough to really replace any established currency in a meaningful way.

Currency is a means of payment & a storage of value. Just like ...your Paypal balance. So, BTC doesn't have to "replace". It just has to "establish".

what is your suggestion?
if i invest now, will it increase later?
like after one month / 2 month?

If I was to invest a bit of money into bitcoin, what would you guys suggest the amount should be ? Does it need to a be 1 full BTC or can it be just a percentage of it ?

The problem with Bitcoin it's pro freedom anti government. That's the problem. People hate freedom (most of them) and that's the problem! That is why people love fiat money!

my 8 BTC eat exkash.com
shit site.. Didn't send money in my local bank.. even they don't reply..

A general rule of thumb with any investing or gambling is to invest up to as much as you are able to lose. If a worst-case-scenario happened, what amount would you be fine with losing?

Also yes you can buy less than one BTC, they break down into "Satoshis" or 0.00000001 of BTC (one hundredth of a million).

You sound like you have no idea what BTC even is.. so my advice: don't just buy it based on the presumption that it's going to go up just because someone else said it would.

Anyways. Bought a bunch of BTC a few weeks ago. Fingers crossed.

If you want to play it safe, do not invest a large amount at one time, bitcoins price will fluctuate, it is wiser to spread out your investment instead of jumping in all at once. If you can afford 1 BTC a week, then do that, if not then invest whatever you can every week, be it $25, $50, $100, and wait for a ripe opportunity to make a larger investment (buy low). This will protect you from unforeseen loses.

At this very moment bitcoin has significantly dropped in price which could be great for newcomers, but at the same time it could have ruined those who went all in at $470/ $500, the latest peak.

I highly suggest to read this article which came out today. It is already at 1.2k shares after another 3 hours.

This should be the reason of the down-trend today:

These are the reasons I won't invest in Bitcoin for now. It would be to much of a bet.

WTF did just happen ?

That's definitely part of the reason, the bitcoin xt fork between developers has been known by a select group and those interested enough to find out for a while now, Satoshi mentioned it in August of 2015 and it has not been publicized much since then.

The other reason for the down trend today, and fluctuations probably for the next week is Crypsty, the cryptocurrency trading platform declaring bankruptcy due to a hack that lost 13,000 BTC and 300,000 LTC (Millions of $).

Millions of people were trading with Cryptsy as they were the largest platform for cryptocurrency exchange since MTGox. There have been a lot of problems being reported and countless amounts of the reports are from users having issues withdrawing from them in the past few months.
