It isn't suggested to send something like 500k from VPS, better way of accomplishing your target is the dedicated email server, and most ideally with commercial MTA...

Instead of starting sending them promotional offers, or marketing emails, first try making relationship. At first, try to get them as your subscribers, evaluate your first experiment mindfully, segmenting is key.

Here is a good strategy to build up your own double opted list. It took me 6 weeks to build 106k double opted list and the list brought me more than $40k business within the next 3 months.

- Create your a decent/beautiful landing page which clearly tells visitors people the benefits of filling up the form. e.g "get free passes, free access to b2b member db, enhance business network etc".
- Try to make the first step of subscription as short as possible. i.e just ask for visitors email on the first page and ask for the rest of other profile data on the next steps.
- On every next step, tell people the importance of filling up the information request.
- The most important field is the industry field so you can segment the leads according to niche.
- Try to auto fill the location and country fields by using ip2location or google maps api so people feel confident in filling up the rest of the information.
- Put the landing pages on multiple domains as you'll probably be driving traffic on this via spam. So keep one cleaned/main domain where people will be redirected after filling up the form from shell templates. It is important as next time you'll be emailing to your subscribers using main domain so they know where the email is coming from.
- So as soon as a person fill up the from, send him verification email containing confirmation link. Confirmation links can be generated within your email marketing application (if supported). However our application Mumara supports it.
- So as soon as your list starts growing, you can start pushing them targeted offers taken from marketplaces like clicksure, clickbooth, jvzoo etc. You can also setup triggers and auto responders which evolves your manual work to schedule campaigns.
- Make sure you mask your links within your campaigns while sending marketing offers so you don't get spammed in future. Some of the email marketing applications support domain masking option, else you can use services like tinyurl or goo.gl etc.

Mainly 2 questions, if anyone test it out.

1.Is it a good idea to build a Double Opt-in List from Bulk emailing over 100k emails/week get them to subscribe and confirm so you have a list o prospects who to market on long term, or direct sending the followup to unconfirmed emails (scraped)

2.What email address to use when you sending emails to "Jon Doe", Lets put it this way, i have scraped over 50000 targeted emails in a niche, now id like to send them an email offering something great but make them optin in on my squeeze, what email address would you guys suggest? @nichedomain.com or if its possible a gmail address to act as a normal user who shows some interest in other persons problems.

So what you do is clean that list you have with a reputable and/or a good cleaner online. Then you send out an email that sends them to a opt-in for something (it doesn't have to be the item or service your thinking about selling). Then you use that new opt-in to sell your items/service. You said to put the opt-in landing pages on separate domains, do you mean different ESP servers.
