The Simple Plan(in short)
  1. Send handwritten letters to businesses around you with your email and phone number written inside and your proposal to make them a website for just 100$.
  2. Google their business before sending the letters and make sure you send the letter to only those people who don't have a website already.
  3. In the letter mention that your provide hosting and domain for free with the 100$ package and it is just $50/year after one year maintenance cost. Also mention that, "Pay only after you get a satisfied website."
  4. Buy hosting and domain from your own affiliate link (change ip, use a friends debit card and info, done) or use Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud services for multiple hosting.
  5. Wait for them to email or call.
  6. Ask their products/services information , about company, contact details, etc on email and copy / paste in the respective pages.
  7. Done.

1. Letters

The main thing is the letters. We are simply going to blast out letters instead of blasting emails. After receiving such a good offer, successful business owners wouldn't let it go. Choose the price according to the business size. It can go up to $500 and higher with manufacturing unit owners, etc. Use good quality paper and envelope. The total letter costed me less than 0.50$ to reach to the customer. (including postage).

2. Hosting and Domain

Check if the exact match domain is available before sending the letter and mention that you will provide them exactbusinessname.com. You can use many hosting services available on BHW or it is completely your preference.

3. Wordpress

I use Genesis Framework + Altitude Pro Child Theme as it is very easy and made for making business websites. You can choose the themes of your preference.Just make sure you make it fast and responsive.

4. SEO

I haven't mentioned anything about SEO in any of my letters as I myself am not good at it. You can offer your SEO services to them but be carefull at explaining what is SEO to them.

You can also send these letters to businesses around the world after you have a good capital and a website about web development.
I have got a conversion rate of around 4 customers per 10 letters sent. Each paying 5,000 INR (80 $) and $50/year after one year. I have just started and have 4 customers to work with. I already got 2 cheques of 5,000 and 2 are yet to come. I am very happy with this business as installing wordpress in one of my hobbies.

Thanks for reading, please let me know if you have any questions. :)

Not as easy as it seems. I doubt your conversion rate is 40% due to the competition (there's hundreds of people offering websites everyday).

Many people offer website but how many of them send personalized letters with such a low price? You may be right.

Hmmm looks like a solid plan. Are you going to make a journey thread for this?

I am already in the middle of it, after the testing(4 people mentioned) is over and my exams in March leave me free, I would start one.

If you can google their business, I can bet you they also have a site, and I will be almost sure they will not be looking for a new site to be built; I know this from experience. And 10 out of 10 times they will want to see proof or previous work. Sure its only $100 but these days, business owners know what $100 can get you for a site.

If this is making you money then great, good luck for your future leads.

When I was starting to develop local business's sites I approached by their email or in person. I skim through their site, and if I see a problem for usability or SEO, I create a quick elevator pitch to send them or approach them with. And from their, depending on your attitude, you can close a deal to create them a site.

I found that approaching them in person shows courage and professionalism, and it gives you a higher chance on getting the job. In person, the deals can go pretty high, close to a thousand most of the times... so that was definitely a plus for me.

I am 16 years old and watching a kid walking in and offering making website, people would literally kick me out, hence I choose Letters. No email spam and no one will know a kid is working around. But yes, your right.

I was 15 at the time. In fact, my attitude was what converted.

I can see this working if you live near small town, and family owned businesses. But if you're in a heavily populated area I'd imagine this being difficult because, I'm sure they've gotten numerous offers in the past.

Yeah, you probably got lucky with your first batch OP.

$100 per site? Why so low? What country are you from? You could charge 600 - $1000 for what you are doing in some countries.

I am from India. After I make some $1000, I will create a website for my work(web development) and start sending such letters to other countries, quoting $500 and above.

Oldest of the old method, this is like some 2007 method.
Did you look through old methods and just rewrite the exact same words?

Seems like exactly one thread I've seen years ago on this forum. It still works for local business. You can use other hosting with great affiliates offers such as Hostgator (I think they pay high, even is their not top quality).
Gave me the same feeling and then I remembered something like this was posted by 7878 back then.
Here - 22 Letters = $17,000 profit in 3 weeks

This won't ever happen in India.

Please don't speak for all of us Indians. I can see me doing this in person and people actually accepting it. I've already done it for a few people and I was back 17 back then.
If you've got the right attitude and some good soft skills, you will see them giving the job to you. Of course, set up loads of different sites and pull it up as your portfolio while pitching the whole idea to them.

I think this is too old method...too difficult now

How would it be difficult? There's plenty of businesses in each city and you have a boatload of cities in so many different countries. It all comes down to how you approach them to help them.
