Correct me if I'm wrong, but I can choose any product (with high prices), as long as I can find long tail keywords with low competition to rank for, right?

I'm slowly learning Link Building right now. Cause for me, it kinda lost with so many advices, guides outthere. Some suggest these strategies, some say otherwise.

Regardless, I just bought GSA SER as well as WAC (Wicked Article Creator) to build link myself. As I noticed that they are the perfect combination for building tier-2 links or lowers.
So my problem lies in tier-1. Please kindly answer my question:

1) Do you use 100% unique and 100% hand-written articles for tier-1?
2) If yes, how much do you usually pay for them? And how many words for each posts?
3) How many posts per each web 2.0 that can make it look natural to Google? I'm thinking of 5 - 10, but that will be costly.

Act always as you're opening an ecommerce, if you choose bad products you will never sell.

To choose a great product you need to analize market, competitors that are selling them and users that are waiting to buy them.

For an Authority website I always start to search from products and then I will do keyword research.
But I analize a lot of keywords on a weekly basis to search for best SERP opportunities and I'm opening new websites following easy keywords (very little niches with 3/5 pages)

Are two different ways to concept a website project.

For an Authority website I always start to search from products and then I will do keyword research.

So, basicly you choose your potential products, you do the keyword research for each product, then choose the one with more potential, right?
If this is the case, then it's gonna take me a lot of time

I never said it would be easy!
If you want to really make money you have to invent a lot of time in product research because you need to find right product.
The kind of product that people can not wait to buy (if you can't find it, create it!).

In Italy there are a lot of blog using this theme
Personally I don't like it but you can choose every theme you want, in any case any theme requires custom optimization.

You can rank with crappy links but I don't use them and I still rank without problems

Well, in order to get backlinks easier my advice is to let contents without affiliate links.
If you contact other webmasters with a lot of affiliate links in your pages you will decrease your chances of getting backlinks.
Maybe they will think you're the usual marketer who does everything for money and not for passion

For ranking purposes don't worry about, if your website is full of original good quality content you can balance your inner and outbound (affiliate) links without problems.

Hello Argan! Could you correct my thinking with the siloing idea? I've read a lot of articles but I'm still confused with the top level of silos.
- let's say my site is animals.com and I want to have silo like: animals.com/dog/bulldog/bulldog-accesories/best-bulldog-collar. How should I use pages posts and categories there? Could I just have 'dog' as a empty drop down menu trigger (not being an actual page as I dont want to rank for 'dog' but I want 'bulldog' to be my top keyword of that silo) and then 'bulldog' is a page, listing bulldog accesories as one of categories and then best collar as a post? Is it okay to have that kind of blank trigger in the menu in which the main keywords listed? If that's wrong then how would you do it?
- Can I have a dynamic homepage with all those featured posts, most recent etc?

Animals.com page --> All about all kind of animals or dynamic homepage (I can advice dinamic homepage because you should write from 30K to 50K only on the homepage lol
/dog/ --> Category + 5 supporting posts + Posts in this category
/bulldog/ --> Category + 5 supporting posts + Posts in this category
/bulldog-accessories/ --> Category + 5 supporting posts + Posts in this category
/best-bulldog-collar/ --> Post

Now the problem is where is you commercial converting content. I think that /bulldog/ will never convert because is a really generic page.

In any case your question is really hard because there is a lot of analysis to do
Depending from search volumes, from converting intents and from how much supporting content you are willing to create...

I've few websites with 2 macro categories and 5 subsilos that have other 3 sub silos and 1 sub-sub silo...
The first 2 macro categories have 20 supporting articles each, the 5 subsilos have 10 supporting articles each, the 3 sub silos have 5 articles each, the 1 sub-sub silo have 5 supporting articles.

There are 110 supporting articles and only 11 categories...
The more supporting articles you're able to create the better you'll rank in SERPs for your main categories (high volume keywords with a lot of competition).

So there is no point in siloing if I don't really care about ranking for those top biggest keywords? I want to plan an authority site that targets many connected niches but focus on easy keywords, at least at the beginning.
