Amazon Affiliate - 6k Monthly

Can you elaborate on the backlinks you're building? Are you guest posting? Blogger outreach? Dead link building? Etc

Guest posting/Blogger Outreach. A few high quality web 2.0's blasted with some links. Never done dead link building.

Things are looking good. I'm making about $200-$300 per day and the average has been increasing. Amazon is really slow with updating shipments/earnings, and I'm lagging 3 or 4 days behind, but I'm pretty sure I'm currently around $4,200 for this month. I would like to reach $5,000 by BlackFriday, I think it's doable.

At first I liked the new Amazon order tracking display they recently implemented, but the constant lagging of the reports and the numerous threads on the Amazon discussion board about conflicting reports between the new system and the old, purchases disappearing, and orders not being reported correctly has made me worried.

I think I'm just being paranoid because this is honestly the most money I've ever made and I don't want anything to go wrong haha. (which it will)

I know you're experienced with Amazon but be sure to read the Terms of Service and ask an Amazon rep to check out your site to make sure everything is by the books. If they shut down your account they'll hold your payments as well and then you're screwed. I know you probably know this but just giving you a quick reminder.

By the way, what's the Amazon discussion board?

I appreciate the lookout. Yeah, whenever I make a major change, I actually have one of the associates check it to make sure it complies with the terms of service etc, and then I take a screen shot and put it in a folder. Who knows if this would actually help, but it makes me feel more safe haha.

When on the amazon associates login homepage, look on the left, under "stay connected". There really isn't that much useful information, but something comes up every now and then. It's also the first place to find any problems with Amazon reporting, as others will be questioning as well.

Simply amazing journey. I wouldn't surprise even if you hit 100K a month once you get a few more website . Just wanna know, how much time do you spend on those site daily?

I would love 100k a month, and that's very encouraging to hear. I feel as if you work on a process more so than a website, but I did spend the better part of this year working on website #1. It's hard to define some hours as they're very erratic, but I've definitely put in a few hundred hours learning everything from 0.

Where I am now, I think I have a good view on profitable niches and what it takes to rank a website. Like you said, my goal now is to expand. 100k a month sounds nice. :(

Good luck on your goal. How are you getting all these guest posts? I mean... Doesnt the competition know they are helping you?

I posted this on another journey, but thought I might as well post it here as well.

Website's Often Take Months to Rank Reliably
You're doing great. A lot of people underestimate the time required to start receiving a fair amount of organic traffic. You might see a few rare instances where a website will rank quickly, but I think the majority take a few months. Your journey has been up for less than 2 months, and you've been putting up a ton of content. I wouldn't be worried about anything yet.

Traffic First, Then Conversion
I also wouldn't worry about your CTR at this point, I don't think you have enough data to make an informed decision. You should be concentrating on creating content, optimizing on-page SEO, and creating valuable back-links. Once you have a steady flow of traffic, I think increasing the CTR becomes important.

Social Profiles
Make sure you've got social profiles with a branded link. Take a few hours to automate social posts for the next 3 months, the traffic may be small and somewhat worthless, but it helps Google associate some authority. What do real businesses do? They create social profiles, so you should as well.

Backlinks
What you really need are back-links. Interestingly enough, I bookmarked this page a few months ago after I had already discovered this method through my own trial and error and didn't need it, but I knew it was such a comprehensive list, that it would be useful to share later (starting a blog soon). When I went back to the bookmark, the page was gone. So I went to the good ol' Wayback machine and found it for you.

I was considering not sharing this because I think it's so valuable, but it's Thanksgiving. If you've got a little bit of cash to throw in the webmaster's face, you will get a lot farther with this as well. This is the type of list Google despises.

Use a great introduction with a real name, cite your website, say please and thank you. Be polite. The more casual the website the better, these people don't understand the value of a back-link and often don't understand the value of their website. (Will give free or undervalued back-links).

People tend to think you're a robot, humanize your letter and try and mention something specific about their website. You're trying to increase your CTR from direct-outreach. Often, the most valuable websites are those that don't specifically mention they will sell links, the least powerful are those with a giant list of external links or "sponsors page".

These can be good links, but too much of one thing is always bad. Too many of these and you will get hit with a penalty. Remember to also comment on relevant blogs, do a few paid Facebook posts to get some legitimate shares and likes. Do your best to make make your website appear natural.

Enjoy.

BlackFriday isn't over, but it's not looking as good as I had hoped. I'm definitely going to make over $500 dollars, but I doubt I I'll break 1k. Some people are saying the live-data could be off, hopefully true.

I added BlackFriday banners on a few popular pages, and I think that helped with clicks. Yesterday I had the most uniques and clicks to Amazon I've ever had, but still an ordinary $200 day. Conversion rate plummeted unfortunately.

The weird thing is, while I'm selling a good amount of relevant items, I'm not really selling many random large items. Perhaps it's my niche, maybe Cyber Monday is the day I should care most about. I guess we'll see.

I was lucky enough to have a great Black Friday but there has definitely been problems with live data. I've had days earlier in the month where I had hours and hours with no sales (even though I normally have new sales every time I refresh the page). I spoke to live support and they even admitted their tracking had a bug - don't know if it's fixed or not yet. My conversion rate was down yesterday, but due to a massive amount of extra traffic my sales were still higher than normal.

My suspicion has been confirmed. The live data is great, but it breeds paranoia.

Danno, how does your Cyber Monday usually compare to BlackFriday?

Sold over $5,000 worth of stuff, made over $500 today. Made over 1.2k the last 2 days. I just wonder how long this is going to keep up, it's truly insane.

Broke 1k visitors in a day, CTR to Amazon is around 75% because of strategic BlackFriday banners. Conversion from Amazon is around 9%.

what a great journey OP
thanks for keep going.. really motivational..
good luck, wish you 100K$ monthly
hard work always pays off
