Instagram LOW engagement significant drop in likes

Lately alot of threads have been posted due to this matter.
However since last night I realised that it has become worse. Also I have to state that in my country instagram ads was realised last night.

Let's look back. It was very normal for me to have atleast 10 % engagement on every single post. The quality of my posts are the same if not better.
I have 40K more followers, but however my likes kept dropping.
It fell to 5 % and the down to 1,7%.

Since last night when the new instagram ads was released here .. for every post, I ONLY receive 60 likes within the first hour.
I have to mention, I have used followliker. With basic settings.. 300-400 follows, 600 likes and humanlike delays. 65-75 secs.

I though have realised that a lot of european and american profiles is hit by low engagement. I even know profiles which has grown organically which experience it.

But when looking at middle easterne profiles, I realise there amount of likes and comments has not dropped! is this due to the fact that some of these country don't offer international credit cards? Is this due to people in these countries not being able to use instagram ads. anyways?

I like to know your experience and observations.

Also has anyone found out how to get engagement bakc on track.
Let me mention.. I have done the things mentioned in couple of threads in here. Following people who comment. Following people who like... all sort of things, but nothing seems to help. Not these aspects.. maybe some of you might have found a solution?

the new normal, like to follower ratio seems to be around 3%. 5% seems to be really good as with comments to follower ratio 0.55% seems to be really good. but i only analyzed 230 IG accounts. so i could be very wrong...

As someone recently posted a link where someone from Instagram said that they're not adapting any of the Facebook advertising strategies into this one and the feeds algo is still the same as it used to be before.

yep, engagement is really going down somehow. seems like we can't do anything about it, gaining more followers seems to be the only solution for facing that problem.

Someone already said it might have to do with your post not showing up that much on the explore tab. Sometimes you think you might get many likes from your followers, but in fact, you're getting likes through the explore tab. At least, that's what I've noticed.

I have noticed this too! Constantly getting 800-1000 likes and suddenly dropped to 600-750 now

I have tried different hours of the day. No luck. This is a perm. change. And the funny thing is the numbers of likes are limited to around 500-700 and it literally stops around that number EVERY time. Personally I believe engagement has dropped to 1% of yout follower ratio. Comment has also dropped alot.

I can't really use that statement the australian paper released. I hear it's not that big os a paper agency anyways, and you can't really take their word for granted.

But notice something guys. I have realised the accounts which are hit by low engagement to receive around 200-300 likes for every 10K followers they have. I think you guys should keep an eye on this

I still can't get what the idea of Instagram is. Actually, Instagram was always about following others and getting all their posts in your feed and I guess that will not change, it would be really awkward when the initial idea of Instagram gets destroyed.

BUT: Instagram is definitely reducing posts in the explore tab and may use the explore tabs to promote ads more and more so it'll definitely get more and more difficult to get noticed by others...

Anyone running hot girls pages? My biggest page in that niche is 25k but the engagement there is a worst piece of crap in the universe. I get around 150 likes per 24h which is just ridiculous, some of my 3k pages get more. I don't know is it niche specific or what but the rest non-hotgirls pages are doing better. I do not post any nsfw content.

Content is king, If you have a page which people really enjoy then you will ultimately win.

If you're spamming and not bringing value to people you will lose.

Agreed - my posts range anywhere from 400 - 1400 likes. They are not filtering the feed. It's not Instagram, it's your content/timing/whatever else is going on with your followers.

we're not talking about filtering the feed but more the presentation of your images in the explore tab, from which you get most likes from non followers. : )

Anyone who was around FB when they started doing the same will recognize the pattern. Any commercial nature posts will require a boost in order to reach people. Even if you have 1000's of followers, it's gonna ge throttled.

The botting days been over so you have to be real and decide on other ways of gaining real followers to your page unfortunately.

The botting days will actually never be over, hahaha. you just have to know how to bot.

I agree on your last point tho. The times you are posting are really important, just grab some stats and see when your Followers get more engaged and see where most of your followers come from and then just adjust the time of you posting it. It's not easy, but it might work.

It varies from country to country when people are most active and it also depends on your target audience. Like, kids will most likely to be active around the end of classes at school whereas adults might be more active in the evening. It all depends. Trying to post at different times each day and see which time works best.
