I agree on your last point tho. The times you are posting are really important, just grab some stats and see when your Followers get more engaged and see where most of your followers come from and then just adjust the time of you posting it. It's not easy, but it might work.
It varies from country to country when people are most active and it also depends on your target audience. Like, kids will most likely to be active around the end of classes at school whereas adults might be more active in the evening. It all depends. Trying to post at different times each day and see which time works best.
If you post 4-5 times a day every few hours you should be able to hit most countries, and if you have a page people enjoy and it brings them value they will regularly go to your page.
For example the '1000 true fans' or 'building a tribe' concepts.
