Anyone know any good ways to get leads for a local used car dealer? I've done Autotrader, Cars.com, Craigslist, Facebook, it's been a struggle. Is PPC worth it? Thinking about doing some print locally but I feel like it would just be a waste

have a close friend who owned several nissan dealerships in nc and was also on nissans national marketing board. he told me in the past that radio advertisements produced the best ROI for him. this was several years ago so i am not sure how accurate this would be today.

Billboards, guaranteed winner mailers with scratch cards or something. I come from that world and there are a lot of creative ways of going about it.

TrueCar is another lead provider you can use and if you play your sales game right you take a loss in the front to make a lot in the back end. They opnly charge a fee when you sale a VIN if you're in new cars but they have a used car lead service as well.

Lot linxs is another one. Depends on your area and reach along with inventory available.

Try ebay and Facebook Ads. Ah, too I see lot of dealers making videos for youtube

Try to get some billboards near gas stations if its in your budget.

You should open a trade account at Amazon or eBay, I've sold my two VW cars at eBay.

CPC would be expensive as hell in that niche! As a starting point FB could be nicer. Try it out.

I haven't done this personally but it is effective as I have fallen victim to it.

Here's what you do...

Post advertisements on Craigslist in your city and/or surround area.. Post used-car ad's with a fair price (usually slightly less then KBB).. Post several pictures of ANY used-car, the crisper the better (prefer toyota/nissan/honda - that's what people want to buy)... In the description of the Ad post "reply with text/e-mail" to see the vehicle, or whatever.

Collect the e-mails/phone numbers and hit them up with some old fashioned e-mail marketing of some featured specials you have going on at your dealership's lot..

Good luck =D

I'm wondering if anyone else has any unique strategy they have on this topic. Director of Marketing here at a dealership.

We tend to do a bunch of FB, Adwords, cars.com and autotrader.

I see smaller dealers using Instagram a lot. Seems successful as their cars get sold quick.
