The best answer I have ever seen, so dp does have it uses lol.

I have to say though looking at vbulletin I think it would be better getting a paid version there is some brilliant mods and themes. At present I am using smf, but I hope to upgrade to vbulletin one day, If the forum ever takes off.

I am using a nulled version of vBulletin 3.8.3 on one of my no name sites, and I think it works great, you won't get caught unless you blatantly advertise that your using a nulled version. And not to mention you will save some money.

Only real downside in my book is that you don't get access to vbulletin.org which has some really awesome mods/skins.

If you can deal without vbulletin.org and download skins from say vbteam.info, then you will be set. Illegal or not, free is free.

If you want a really successful site. vBulletin is the way to go.

I have noticed that webmasters do judge a site by its forum software so keep that in mind. I provide vBulletin for on of the webmaster forums Im working on and it is great. Especially combined with vBSEO.
