As it say's in the title, I can only seem to find downloads were you have to pay for a vbullitin license which cost $160 dollars, maybe I am looking in the wrong places.

    Thanks

What do you mean? You can buy vBulletin from its official website and yes it isn't free. Good luck.

You can get a 'nulled' version at certain places. But I'm not sure if I'm allowed to talk about it here. Either way, it's really easy to avoid paying that amount of money.

vBulletin and IPB are awesome bulletin boards.

LOL yes you are at the right place

    $180 License
    $100 License
if you get a free or (Nulled) version and they catch you they will shut your forum down.

You mean they will TRY. First, it's difficult for them to know unless you say on your site you nulled it. Secondly, they have no power to shut you down. They would contact your host probably.

    Hello,
I am thinking of using vbulletin for a membership site.
I want to get the paid version.
If I put all of the work into the nulled version and it gets shut down all my hard work will be lost.
Or should I just go for the null and risk it?

Well as I said, they can't shut it down. It's not like there is a magical button that disables it. Also, they don't go around looking at people's forums and trying to guess if it's registered or not.

If you wish to buy it and support vBulletin then that's fine. They're a good company - nothing wrong with that. I'm just saying

I think it will be better to use "PHPBB" or "SMF".

I wouldn't risk using a nulled script like vBulletin.. Besides, it's worth the money.

You shouldn't have a problem with nulled, I really don't think they will catch you.

I have a number of vbulletin sites and they are all paid for.

I know we all like to get stuff for free but the support and mods you can get and the standard of the software is worth it in my book.

If its a site you want to keep and build on then i would recomend paying for it.
