Hi, I was wondering if there's a difference between using Socks vs http for Instagram. Will it influence ban rate/ account creation... etc? thanks.

I think there is no difference. Everything will done on the server side in both cases.

a sock is something you wear on your foot..
well and a "socks" is a type of proxy to relay tcp packets
