I hate to say this but this method isnt going to work HALF as well as you will expect.

Firstly, as soon as a few people realise your app is loading up a url its going to get flagged FAST, once it gets flagged it gets deleted. 1000 peers? NO CHANCE! you will be lucky to get 100. Now this is to say that your torrent even sticks in the first place, have you tried uploading to mininova or piratebay lately? If your uploading 'popular' apps they are going to get banned before they even get a single download, trust me i've been doing this for a long time and popular apps are so saturated that mods are just banning them left right and centre.

This idea has potential but its not going to get you anywhere near as much traffic as you think. The conversion rate for this kind of thing is awful aswell, im sure there are ways you can make this method work but you really need to think outside the box.

just my 2 cents, but even so thanks to the OP for suggesting it :)

Be Creative to manouver that kind of move, you can make the pop up like a natural pop up.
Example:
Big Fish Games -> There's a lot of new bigfishgames, once a day.

How to make it natural the pop up?
You can make the pop up at the end of the trial installs. They won't suspicious to see a bigfish site (tough it's yer aff link) after installing bigfish games.

Another methods,
Hijack their browser so they can't go back and comment. No further explanation about this.

This method can help you get 100% CTR to your link, which is a lot higher than passworded torrent. And the risk to get removed lower than password torrent. If you abuse the torrent system, you'll get removed fast. I have torrents that last for months.


Key of making long term of this torrent is longevity your torrent files and relevant aff site with the files. So be creative. I spoil already a lot of puzzle pieces. It's depend on you how you can combine this puzzle for your own benefit. Use your own twist, with original idea, you'll be better and better.
 
dragon: I am not sure how browser hijacking works but I don't think it would be a good move.

See..if I download a file and if my browser gets hijacked...I would make it a point to go back and post no matter how I do.

besides, almost everyone has 2 browsers installed right? IE...firefox and chrome being the topmost if am not wrong.
 
I thought of a cool twist.

Ok so basically you do exactly whats listed in the method.

However you actually include the real files and put them in a .rar, .zip etc.

Now you put a password on them as well.

So when the user opens up the app your site pops up and so does the rar. So you can send them to a page which tells them to a do a email submit to get the password.

2 old methods combined into one :)

make the afflink that the prog will open www.yoursite.com/offer1, using apache and the .htaccess file you just redirect that to what ever affiliate offer if up and running. Just use this code in your .htaccess file (replace offer1 with anything you'd like, replace the affiliate offer with the working affiliate offer)

if an offer expires, just switch it out and you're still good to go, no need to re-upload or loose all your seeds / leachers.
 
I was just thinking...
if you register to clickbank and some other similar services (I forgot the names) and open up some free hosting site's, then you post a little index page (it may be screwed) on all of them (I think it's the best when they are unique).
Make a link from every site to all the others.
After that go to clickbank and the other services and choose the method that pays the most (I think pop-up) and put the code inside your page.
For every single host you use one different clickbank service.
Now do the same trick that is explained in the main post.
Search a script to redirect the user from one page to the other trough the links.
So you can make money on several services with just 1 torrent.
When the torrent is flagged, you just re-up under another ip-adress

I know this post is a bid clumsy and that I have to work some things out, but it just came up to me.
I'm gonna do some research and testing and if it works I will make a post for this.

only newbs open .exe files, half of them are viruses anyway.
 
i open exe from torrent files and i never get a virus. There's couple trick that you can learn to check if it's a virus or not. The easiest one, upload it to virustotal. Next use only trusted torrent files. Next right click and use extract here with 7zip, you can see the virus if the uploader is noob. Next you should learn more about ppi, how to do that in Harro forum. And you won't get virus.

Just like a police, to catch a thief you should think as a thief. Or to catch a hacker, you should know how to hack and think as hacker.
 
I tried this ages ago and never made a penny but the comment that's made me think about trying it again is "Most of the traffic is crap, but some does convert". Got a method just now thats doing pretty well, gonna throw my idea in today and tell u the results...

I understand if you are expecting software/crack you would open .exe files. But if you are looking for a movie, like the author suggests, why would you even try? Besides, if they were 700mb, would you really upload it to an online scanner/ etc?

Bah, forget it.

There is no way you can sell anything with the traffic. I would imagine myself get very pissed off after download a fake torrent file. Do you really believe after being pissed off people will buy your products or buy affiliate? However, the method is good for CPM and PPC i suppose. thanks anyway.
 
So you're saying that if I upload a REAL celeb movie with a REAL bat to an adult celeb porn site that's FREE to join, it definitely won't sell? Okay you go with that, I think otherwise....
 
Real celeb movie will convert extremely well and get you a lot of peers in short of time. Just like Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Alba, with xxx titles. I leak one of my income statistic, i get 2 free game credit card submit ($15 each lead) lead from each 1000 force click (free game landing page). Using this traffic can help you rank better in SEO too and easy cookie stuffing. Any method won't work well without your own twist.
 
I did almost the same with music files, converting mp3's to wma, in the wma you can specify an url at any given time in the song.
