This is going to be purely informational in nature as I go through the process I went through when I starting SEO and IM. I am going to replicate my entire process and post any relevant information in this thread, including how and why I do something the way I do.
This journey starts with $0 start up money set aside just for this project. Any other funds used in this journey will be through earnings. The purpose of this is to help people with no capital turn it into something with hard work and reading.
The premise is simple of what I will be doing, this is a journey to create a system and process to rank sites. The sites I rank can be my own, or a clients. The only part that matters is I will be showing all the fun details to create networks to rank your sites. This is about creating a series of long term properties I can use to rank many sites with the only start up costs being used upfront. I will make some money off of doing this and I need to do it again anyways as I tapped most of my networks out.
This will require a bit of work and a little start up cash but it will be well worth it. Updates will not be super frequent because I am busy but I will update as often as possible and when something happens. Plus I am actually doing this with you (As a newbie would) and am not using funds from any other project to make this work.
You can follow along and try this if you want. I expect this to take six months to be 'complete' to a degree I am comfortable with.
The linear process is simple (And subject to change):
1. Earn enough money for required programs.
2. Purchase Required Program.
3. Build Web 2.0 properties to rank.
4. Build a PBN to rank.
The everything in between will be what programs I use, how quickly I make the money to go to the next step, and how i did it. This should be a good learning experience for everyone myself included.
Step One: Earn Enough Money for Scrapebox
I am doing this with you for the sake of being fair. Although I already have the capital, I wanted to actually do this myself like you would. The first process I do will require Scrapebox or another such service to scrape the web (I will get to this later). If you are here you have a computer, so I will not make enough money to purchase a computer first.
The fastest way to start playing the game is by getting an offline job. I will earn $100 to pay for Scrapebox, here is how I will do it:
1. Fiverr
I have an old account on Fiverr with a few gigs I no longer do. Areas I can quickly flip to make money and I use are:
- Selling Traffic (I buy $1 in traffic and sell for $5)
- Fix WP Bugs
- Website Review (User experience test of a website)
- Article Writing
- Amazon / Yelp Reviews (Although not too great with recent crackdowns)
- Ect.
These are just some ways you can make the under $100 to buy Scrapebox with Fiverr. These are quick and do not require a lot of effort to get the ball rolling.
2. Meatheads Method
Find a product and spam your link to forums and relevant groups in social media. If you pick a big ticket item and spam enough, you should only need a sale or two to make this method work. It will take some patience to make the first sale but this is very straight forward.
3. Flipping items on Craigslist, Ebay or Amazon
This is a classic method of buying low and selling high. The secret I have found is buying products which are store exclusive and selling it to others for simplicity sake.
For example, some stores like Toys R Us, Target, Trader Joes, Sears and such have exclusive products people are willing to pay $$$ for. I know I did this with Toys R Us baby products. People love retailer exclusive items and would prefer to not use the stores website or the website does not offer it and it is in store only.
Sears has exclusive tools. Target have select 'fashion' collections. Trader Joes has exclusive food items. K Mart has exclusive Martha Stewart cooking products.
Recently a Minion movie came out and stores sold exclusive tic tacs. I bought one bottle for $3 and sold it for $20 online. Quick flip if you know where to look.
The best advice I have is go to the store and find any and all exclusive products a store would have in stock and go online and see what they are going for. List the product and when it sells, go buy the product and ship it.
Putting an item on Amazon someone in a specific region can not get is a huge market to make quick money with very little start up cost (Or none if you prefer) and are crafty.
4. Freelancing
Either on BHW or a site like Upwork. You can find a quick an easy job which will net you a few dollars for a little but of work. People will always pay for content or reviews and you can make the money in a few days of grinding this out. You need to know what skills you have and use a fishing net to catch all you can. You never know what offer or job will work out and make you money.
5. Beg for Money (On the corner works fine)
Okay, I get it. You want easy money. This journey thread is not for you. If you want to make it you need to work. If you can't get any way to make some start up cash you should get a 9 - 5 or collect bottles on the side of the road.
I will be focusing on earning enough money with Fiverr or product flipping to afford Scrapebox. If you want to skip the boring part of this where I actually make the money and buy the software go ahead. What I am focusing on now is re - activating my Fiverr Gigs and going to relevant Social Media groups and posting my fiverr link just as suggested in the Meathead method. I will be focusing on Gigs that require a little work out of me as possible but it will take a bit of time to get a few sales and make the money for Scrapebox. Once I do that I will update with the next step in the journey.
Next update will be as soon as I make the money, but expect a few days because I am busy with other things and cant just crank out 20 Fiverr Gigs in a night to make this money.
