Former Affiliate Manager Here Spilling CPA Secrets

Thanks for the post.

Could you say how much you think people can get away with on email submit offers?

thanks a lot.

The network Im involved with currently doesnt do any email submit offers so I cant help there. It just seemed like to much hassle with the shaving, skimming whatever you want to call it that advertisers do, and possible spam issues. I'd be interested tho if you think there are some good honest email submit offers out there, into looking into adding them to our network. Thanks

I was recently marketing a loan offer and my AM called me up and said to pause the offer because they were not quality leads. He said this was just temporary but has not come back yet to tell me to start the offer again..I wonder whether this often happens to other affiliates.

the thread starter as well as the ones that posted responses provided some valuable info. maan, the game is raw! It is the pot calling the kettle black!:D

if i were buddyboy i would bee messing over that network so raw that when i finished with them they would be broker than the March of Dimes!:D

-I have to ad-, tho our network is not yet public, we do not do anything dirty like that was mentioned by the OP. We try as hard as we can to help out affils make money. They make money, we make money. We can not even do anything dirty like shaving etc. Our network software is 3rd party for all the tracking and there are absolutely no options for shaving or skimming. IMO it keeps track of sales better than directrack also. Id be leary of any network thats not running a 3rd party tracking software as who knows what they could have programmed in it. Just food for thought...

You can get rid of the $12k cost up front by not using imo shitty directrack software. Sorry I sound like a broken record, but they go down more than a 3rd world whore... There is other network software that doesnt have an outrageous upfront fee, and its far more reliable imo.

So basically the cost to get a network would be:
Initial investment:
*DirectTrack - $12,000
*Start from your basement or rent a little office, computers, furniture etc. let's say $5,000~$8,000
Monthly layout:
*Direct track - $1800
*Employee or 2 to get going - $3-4,000
*Rent - $1,000
*miscellaneous - $1,000
These are rough numbers and just aprox. just to get started, depends how you play the game.

Bottom line- if you don't make a penny in 6 months, it cost you a TOTAL of $50-70K.

Now if you have this bankroll the contacts, experience and know how you can expect to at least brake even in the first 6 months.
From there, it's gravy. The expenses are miniscule compared to the amount of money you can make.
But --- YOU GOT TO KNOW YOUR SHIT!!!

This happens with alot of offers, sometimes the supplier only has enough to sell 10k units/month and if the limit starts getting close theyll shut it down for awhile.

Its been happening with alot of acai, resv, colon, teeth products lately on various networks.

As far as telling you the leads arent converting and having you pause it, that just makes sense on the advertisers end. They dont want to keep paying for non converting leads.

Traffic may not be very targeted and some people are filling out the offer then changing mind.. who knows. either way offers get pulled all the time.

Its a real headache for us who work for networks, cause then we have to notify affiliates running that offer, recommend another offer to run, and so on.
Then go into the control panel and redirect the offer to something similar in case the affil doesnt get the message or doesnt care and doesnt change the link etc.

I saw a bigger network pull I think it was a teeth whitening product, but the redirect they used was for a wrinkle cream.. I was like WTF lol.. Point is we try to redirect the offer to a similar product if it has to be pulled temp or perm.

i think i know what network the op is talking about and based on their track record of doing shady things, i already knew about the shaving aspect.

for example: i ran several ppc campaigns for the same offer with multiple aff networks. 1 network was so far off the conversion mark, i knew that they were shaving leads.

i promoted adult for many years before i ventured into mainstream and shaving was something you just became accustomed to. i had one major program owner tell me that they shaved 50% of joins. at the end of the day it became a decision of roi, even with shaving if the roi was there then you just accepted the shave.

i see no difference with mainstream. shaving is going to happen, bu if the return is there then it just become a cost of doing business. it sucks, but thats just the reality.

what sucks about mainstream affiliate networks versus adult is that the adult progs dont typically refuse payments unless its straight out fraud where as the mainstream aff networks will refuse payment even in legitimate situations if there is even the slightest posability that there is fraud.

my experience has been that if your traffic is not quality, there is a good chance you might not get paid. the smaller networks dont seem to care as long as the sponsors are happy with the lead quality.

at the end of the day, low conversion rates as well as harder to detect fraud are factored into the equation when decided what the price per lead is and if the numbers dont work for either the aff network or the sponsor, you will not be paid and probably banned.

just my two cents.

i ran some tests with the same campaign on neverblue, maxbounty, and azoogle.

based on the numbers, my conclusion is that neverblue shaves alot and pretty often.

F them shady canadians.

Holy fuck, the level of cluelessness in this thread makes me thing I'm reading DigitalPoint and not BlackHatWorld. Yeah, so some guy who was canned (I assume) from a network comes here and talks shit about his former company. Of course he's going to rip them a new one - he's anonymous, and they can't respond because they don't even know it's them being talked about. Says he can't reveal them because of non-disclosure and worries of lawsuits. How would they even know - he's posting anonymously. Realistically, he won't post their name because he doesn't want them coming here and defending themselves.

That's not even the clueless part. Half the people reading this are just lapping it up like it's milk from momma's breast. Let me walk through some of the clueless crap I've read in this thread so far.

One network is bad, so all networks are bad: This is total bullshit. You going to stop trusting doctors because one bad apple decided to caress your balls a little too lovingly when he was checking for a hernia? Yes, there are bad networks. That doesn't mean all of them are.

I'll go direct to the merchant: Try pulling your GodCPA scam working directly with the end merchant. See how long you can go before they call their lawyers. For that matter, try defrauding any merchant while working directly with them. You won't last long and they'll be much more lawsuit happy than any network you've ever dealt with. You wouldn't believe how many times merchants ask networks for the identities of cheating affiliates. And you wouldn't believe how lucky you are that networks don't give this out. Even if you are doing pure WH, good luck trying to get their attention unless you are a high-volume affiliate.

I'll start my own network: If you are still deciding on whether or not you can start a network based on how much it costs to licence the tracking software, you sure as hell have a lot to learn. The software is the least of your worries and the lowest of your costs. You don't know half of what it takes to run a successful network.

Networks are out to screw over affiliates: Just because you were banned for cheating doesn't mean networks screw people. You fuck with networks/merchants, you'll get fucked with in return. Plain and simple. You don't fuck with the networks/merchants, they'll be your best friends. The reality is that for most affiliates, they'd be making jack-shit if it wasn't for networks. But you don't hear much from the successful affiliates doing well with networks - because they're busy making money. Not groaning how a network they're getting screwed over because the network isn't paying them for the 100 leads they generated by iframing over the landing page.

If half of you posting here spent half the time you do complaining or working on new ways to fuck over networks/merchants on ways to make money legitimately, you'd find out the reality of what affiliate marketing really is.

Wow... this is very depressing... I love cpa and it seems like the doors of opportunity are closing on everything profitable. I got onto my fav network the other day only to find they have 2 zip/email submit offers. That's all... those are my favorites. Oh well. Better get into the selling of my own products game.

Why are some of you getting so nervous and scared? Because buddyboy says so???
Nothing new under the sun in this thread. If he truly wanted to screw the network he worked for he would give all of you a surefire way to make a shit load of money with them without being caught. Because there will ALWAYS be a way to do so...

And I'm still LOL at the PPC ban coming up!!!

Do you think Amazon affiliates are LOL? Besides, the next method I give you could shut down CPA. It is that potent.

I think you could be talking about copeac. When ever I start running ads my conversions look great on the first day or for the first few hours but then they slip drasticly down by the same percentage everytime. Which is why I moved to azoogle and often times I go directly to the advertiser and get a better payout than the network is giving. For example: copeac is paying out less than $3 per lead for singlesnet offer. I went directly to singlesnet.com and they are paying out $5 per lead. In some cases you can skip the network and go directly to the advertiser and get a better rate.

Amazon has been making life harder and harder for their affiliates. Starting with the lifespan of their cookies. But the CPA? Sure, they can tell you to stop using certain keywords. But then again, they surely do not have the man power to start doing keyword research on their own and then test them with their own money. They will continue letting everyone doing that part of the work. Then they'll ban more keywords.

But hey, if you have a method that is so potent, then you do have the means to truly get even with them.

I think you should do your research, most of them use http://www[dot]directtrack[dot]cOm which has built-in shaving features... :yield:

I dont think directtrack has built in shaving. I've had a directtrack network account just to see what was behind the scenes. But it does allow you to put things in place that could function as a lead shaving.

Find one good product to monetize, send quality traffic, and make big dollars. They do not ban you for good traffic.

lolwut

Thanks for letting me/us know that.

Can i use DMR method to blank the referrer so the the AM will not know where my traffic come from and will my cpa account get banned if i do that? I only want to make $30-50/day from 1 cpa network only. Thanks
