Hello fellow passionate IMers,

A bit of dilemma in web 2.0 backlinking. I'm getting an impression of creating a fresh tumblr blogs, livejournal blogs, blogspot and other popular web 2.0 is not as effective then registering an expired tumblr, blogspot which have a bit of page authority. People also complain of creating fresh web 2.0 take a very long time to rank and sometimes don't.

Is this true?

What I felt was having diversity is the key which means having own set of expired web 2.0 domain to registers didn't have much of an effect. Backlink diversity meaning creating links on document sharing sites, forums etc.

Its doesnt matter, If you create new web 2.0s with lots of unique content and add fresh links, they will work same or better than expired web 2.0s. You can invest time if you are creating web 2.0s for money site.

This is great to hear.

I did read in the past as well where Google values sites which are update to date and active. My original plan was to spend more time on creating quality content for web 2.0 and building new backlinks to it instead of investing timein finding expired web 2.0 and registering them.

I have no issues ranking with fresh web 2.0 props. It can take a while for the effect to kick in (sometimes up to 3 months), but it will happen.

As
Nut-Nights write, it is aboout using quality content, setting up the profile and and then do a second tier of links. It is still working fine when done right.

I've been subscribed to that thread almost the day or few days after it. I can't really rank parasite right now as I don't have or can afford any spamming tool.

Trying to go with few web 2.0 for which I will spend time on creating unique content and make them as high quality possible. Might manually rewrite or spin money site content as writing unique content is burning way too much of my time. Can't out source either.

As of right now, I'm not going after to rank the parasite but using 'parasite' or web 2.0 to provide some sort of signal to boost the SERP of the site.

Not sure if I'm right or wrong, the web 2.0 say a blog post will only influence the site which its linking to which in my case is the money site if that web 2.0 property is indexed and ranked,.
