REVIEW TIME:
So I have 2 VPS with ShapeHost for about 5 months now and they have been great. Absolutely beast in terms of performance and uptime. I have had many VPS services before and I must say these guys can easily blow everyone else out of the park.
About support. I think I'm one of those "dumb" customers who really need lots of help and over the course of 5 months, I have used the servers to their full extend. I use one as a dump basically to install try-outs, test out softwares that I think might have viruses, and sometimes the servers got totally disconnected because of me. AND every single time I submit a ticket, the support staffs get back to me in less than 12 hours. As a matter of fact, many of my tickets get responded in less than 3 hours. I don't know about you guys, but to me, get answered in less than 3 hours is fantastic. And my problems get resolved in less than 12 hours too.
So yea, all in all. I think ShapeHost deserves a solid 10/10 from me. There's nothing to complain really. The way I abuse their server, I would think they might kick me out anytime, but I'm still a customer and a very happy customer at this time.
PS: I am not an affiliate of ShapeHost in any way.
A few q's before pulling the trigger since I'm new to windows vps. I asked on site, but no reply yet (asked over weekend to be fair)
1) Is there any downside to vm vs other option, like does it eat into the ram, or anything like that?
2) I think I can do everything I need on server 2008, but if I turn out to be wrong, and need to start over and switch OS, is this a simple and free process?
3) I'm replacing 8 old pc's running at my house, one application at a time. I will likely add more instances, but if I decide to upgrade or downgrade any particular instance, is it prorated? How so?
4) What exactly does "up to" 1Gb/s mean, and how can I test it? Is it a shared connection with others on that server so their use could eat into my bandwidth?
5) Looking at Windows option with 4 cores and 8Gb ram. I see a US. option for location, but nothing anywhere on site with more detail. Does this mean there is a US physical location for the server? If so, where in US?
thx
Tell me please can I install Keitaro TDS on Shape Square plan?
It requires hosting with PHP 5.3 or newer, MySQL and ionCube
Actually, with me in S. Florida, depending on Canada location, it could be more than a few thousand miles away. Proxies are all across US including Miami.
Where is the US location, and any chance they will be adding servers that could provide the 8GB ram, 4core windows option?

Hey i was wondering if you have any deals on the VPS Square server in the US? I'm looking to replace my current vps and i pay about 27 dollars a month and looking to try and stay around in that area as far as price wise.
@dariusdarius: As much happy as I am with your service, I am getting frustrated for being charged for the service I have cancelled long ago. This mistake has happened twice. Please check the ticket #178062 and please make sure this will not happen again please.
Thank you.
The reviews you get seems to be good and valid I'm happy to try your service. However, I need a clear and honest answer from you, how long have you been in business with this exact operation?
I'm new to VPS and IM in general and i consider myself newbie. I purchased VPS Square at Shapehost, and i must say that i am very pleased with their service. Very good and fast support, Shapehost is my recommendation to everyone. 10/10 guys
