Keyword research question

Doing keyword research for my e-commerce websites with the purpose to choose right amount of right keywords to work on every site.

4 e-shops:
1) men and women clothing categories
2) men and women clothing categories
3) men clothing categories
4) women clothing categories

So what I did is get the list of keywords from google keyword planner, with some data.


Please help to figure out: how many keywords I should take for every shop. How should I choose the keywords?
Also I do not want my sites to compete with each other, so how should I choose the keywords right to get most of it?

Look for the keywords with high average monthly searches but are categorized as low competition. Maximize GKP.

Its not matter that, how many keywords you choose. Find out best profitable keywords and what's your plan for ranking those keywords on SERPs.

Looking like your site is e-commecre. But you are hunting without competing keywords. Was it joke? I don't know. If you want to sell products, then you should choose some profitable keywords. It can be highly competitive or low competitive.

No its not the joke about hunting without competing keywords, but I think its smart to hunt for ones which are less competetive, they should be most valuable, yep?
Oh, and what I actually mean by that sentence, is want to take different keywords for each of my site, so just need to know how to mix/combine them.

In the Google Keyword Planner, most people think you need to focus on keywords with high search volume and medium to low competition. This might sound good on paper, but it can be much more difficult actually doing this.

What I do is actually Google the keywords and look at the search results personally. If you see a bunch of authority sites dominating the first page or so, move on. You're not going to win there. However, if you see few authority sites and a bunch of sites similar to what you are trying to get ranked, you have a fighting chance there.

You would be surprised how successful you can be getting ranked for keywords that have high search volume and high competition using this method.
