does anyone know of like a prepaid bank account or something where i can direct deposit? I don't really want to give them my information like SSN, and thats what greendot wants.

Even offshore accounts will ask for your ID. And the fact that you're willing to deposit money somewhere without giving any identity will give you no garantee whatsiever to ever see that money back someday. You have no proof you're the owner of it. Just think about it.

You can try advcash.com cards, they don't have their own IBAN but you can send money from 3rd party to fund the card, if it helps.

Lots of people are in checksystems which is embarrassing to talk about. Majority want to have anonymous accounts for such reasons as
1. Child support
2. Debt collection
3. Overdrawn accounts
Or they are just plain sheisty

Every place that I would consider safe to deal with is going to want a SS or an ID. The only alternative is to find a REALLY trusted family member or friend who will accept direct deposit for you. I would be hesitant dealing with a company online that didn't want to verify your identity in some way, shape, or form. I know it can be a pain or embarrassing if you have a legit reason for flying under the radar (Graham summed up those reasons pretty well), but a lot of companies providing "shady" anonymous type services are either going to cost an arm and a leg or possibly vanish with your money.

My recommendation is to clear that stuff up. Seems like credit repair could be your friend as you don't want that type of black cloud hanging over your head. It's not worth it. That would be cool to have a sub section of credit repair on the forum. With the knowledge and support we could all offer one another. Yet that'd need to be a special section just to weed the bad apples.
