i was hoping someone could give me some tips for getting the cost of my FB ads down. I'm late to the game on Facebook as I've never really used it like I want to now. I'm building a geo targeted page, still small less than 500 likes. I've been running ads and since the geo location is fairly small, the likes can get fairly expensive. The lowest I've been able to pull off is about .25 average a like, and then of course I can run the same add later and they will cost .50 with the same targeted locations and interests. I'm not all that concerned about specific interests as I am wanting to keep the location targeted. I just can't seem to figure this one out.

This is for an added service for my local SEO clients. Can anyone give me some pointers on getting my costs down as low as possible with this type of goal?

Tia

If you are getting a good CTR from your ads you might want to change it to a CPM ad which would lower your cost per like.

Also, have you discussed with your client about how much he "value" a like? If it's super targeted and he values them at $1 per like and your bringing them at 0.25, well, your doing your job right !

Sometimes it's not how much the like cost but the ROI you get from that same like that matters

This is my page, the idea is to use it as a value add to promote for my SEO clients. I'm not totally upset with a quarter a like, but just good business makes me want to get it down to a nickel or so. I will get my investment back eventually even if I paid a dollar, but I would prefer it not take as long before I can make the endeavor profitable. I'm going to need around 10k likes to make it an attractive selling point for my clients and I'm not sure putting 10 grand or even 5 is something I want to invest, which is why I'm trying to get it cheaper.

Thanks for your reply, hopefully someone has some other tips.

Then you can definitely fix some real/fake likes if your goal is to reach 10k with minimum investment. I think 7k real/3k fake could work well.

As I also stated, turning your ad into a CPM campaign if your CTR is already high could help you lower the price per like. I have done numerous like campaign on Facebook and the only time I got 0.01 per like was when I targeted Pakistan, India, Indonesia etc. My most successful USA/UK like campaign was in the 0.08 range.

Hope this helped you.

Thanks, I have tried CPM and it did not work as well, I think that may be because of the target market size. I'm going to create some more ad variations and see what happens

target third world countries !
use as much as targeting options you can!

Test with several campaigns with 6 images every. See which campaign will get cheapest clicks for likes and stop the others.

I was coming in this thread to say the same thing. Don't waste your time and money on ads that aren't performing well. I also had luck with marketing to places like the Caribbean where it's much cheaper than the States.

Target country, state, city, area, customers. It will have a better price for you.

Target your crowd for sure and keywords you need to know what people are typing in keyword phrases
