So I am the owner of a large sporting facebook page with around 850,000 likes, and I have been running the page for over 3 years and at various points in time trying to get it verified, I also have a wordpress website which I run along side with it. I applied for verification on 8th August and facebook responded to me a few days ago:
"Hi Jason,
Thanks for your request. We've reviewed this account and found that it's not eligible for verification at this time.
While the profile or Page may represent an authentic public figure, brand, business or organization, verification is also based on Facebook's standards for notability. We hope you continue to connect with and grow your audience on Facebook, and we encourage you to report any fake accounts that may be impersonating you.

I sent a message back essentially outlining how we are notable and how there are tones of other facebook pages out there who are far less notable than us but not verified.
I got this message back:
"Hi Jason,
Our criteria for Facebook verification is based on several factors that we don't disclose. We hope you continue to connect with and grow your audience on Facebook. We also encourage you to report any fake accounts that may be impersonating you:

The facebook link that they sent me didn't work and I am starting to suspect I am speaking to a robot.
I sent this message back:
"Hey Jennifer,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I understand that there are standards that you don?t want to disclose but I doubt that any of these accounts meet these standards, none of them have over 50,000 facebook likes and some with as little as 800. Please understand that it is frustrating for me seeing that there are pages out there with barely 1% of our audience (one with 800 likes) verified, when the only thing stopping us from being verified is we are not notable enough. If you do deem any of these incorrectly verified and remove their verification, is it possible to transfer that tick to us.
Also the link that you sent me doesn?t work. Please don?t send me a robotic response this time, because I know there is a person behind this message, I am just struggling to believe it. Because a person would realise that there is a clear miscarriage of justice when a page with 894 likes is verified, where as my page, which I have been running for 3 years, putting my heart and soul into it every day, has a global audience of 850,000 with a a website that gets 1M hits per month, remains unlegitimised by facebook.
Please I hope that you can reconsider.
Regards,
Jason"
I then proceeded to send links to about 30 different varified facebook pages with less than 30,000 Likes (some with as little as 1000)
Currently I am awaiting there response but chances seem slim. Are there any tips on how to approach this next, I feel like I am so close speaking to someone in facebook, something I thought near impossible, but it still feels like I am talking to a robot.
I will update this thread as more information comes through
