I have found a keyword which has these properties :

1000,000 searches (Exact) => confirmed again and again.... this stays same throughout the year except in January it is 823000
685,000 results (i just love it)
CPC =.02 (Earnings may also depend on visitors search habits so..) , i have to do something to keep bounce rate low. So little more engaging content.

Top 3 sites => They are a year old almost. Nothing special. ugly webdesign.
Top ranking site has a backlinks from bookmarking sites. Reasonable amount of backlinks in 50s or so.

Features of top sites : 62% traffic for top site is from this single keyword.

Now, i have some questions

How do i rank for this keyword.

I know all the basics like seo footprints knowledge(started creating my own these days),on page seo, anchor texts, brandable texts but right now i can't afford to pay for software for obvious reason. Can i still rank for this keyword coz i don't want to wait for an year to rank in there.

I can find edu auto approve comment sites, .gov sites...no problem in that

I think this is the real time to apply everything in here !!

Tell me what you would have done if you were in my position ? any suggestions that can help me.

Start by registering a domain, make a website and add good quality content to it. Or google this keyword, go to page 10, find there a small website, contact the owner and try to buy it (ofcourse for a good price), then buy some good backlinks. Profit.
