PBN not passing link juice?

Suss out the domains. As stated above, have a look in wayback machine and see if there is anything fishy. I would also suggest getting the links themselves indexed or whatever else in order to get the links crawled a few times. The relevancy of the backlinks has its place here as well.

I don't think it's anything to do with Google update. I think you should build PBN with spam-free domains. Archive.org is the place to be before you sign up for any domain for PBN.

Thanks for the advice. I picked up my first (what I'm pretty sure is) completely spam free and clean domain yesterday. About relevancy though I have a question. I'm sure it would a stronger link to my money site if the niche of the domain was the same as of my money site. But would it be ok if I wrote an article that was the same niche and linked to my money site in that article?

Previously I was picking a random niche and writing a few articles and sticking my link in by changing the subject for a sentence or two. But for the last domain I am using the same niche as it was previously registered for, but that is not my money site's niche. Another reason I'm wondering about writing an slightly off topic article to link to the money site is so I can use the PBN in the future for more than one money site per domain.

Can anyone confirm if this is bullshat or not?

I made a thread about my 2nd pbn in the past week pointing to the same site not working, on a site where I know it should have given me a significant boost given the competition and past experience.

If quote is true that would make a lot of sense to me.

What I said definitely isn't bullshit, but the circle jerk of people on BHW who don't know any better will probably continue to say otherwise.

For someone with a PBN that's over 1100 sites , all TF/CF > 40, unspammed, and many have tremendous authority (DA/PA >70, TF/CF >50) you can at least take solace knowing I'm probably right that there's been a severe rolloff in google crawl regularity as well as no updates in authority assigned in the last 2 weeks. I see this every single significant "cleaning tool" update Google rolls out.

Panda is an update that needs time as well to fully be realized, and needs to have a stable "snapshot" to do so. Until it's done, and settled google won't be changing that "snapshot". Moves here and there in weak niches are to be expected and don't a thesis make.

Also you make sure that domain is not flagged as malware site before. I have found few domains like that before.

You could use a browser with a Norton or other anti-malware add-on on it and go to your site and see if Norton throws a flag.

I actually think this could be true too. I've noticed my rankings being very slow to change since the Panda update and new links to my site have not shown up in Webmaster tools this month.

Seeing a lot of threads like this as of late.

Here are a few things I've noticed that really seem to help. Keep in mind I'm still new to PBNs. Still testing what's most effective. I don't profess to be an expert. But I feel like people in general have a bad habit of skipping the basics.

1) Age. It seems like age is a commonly neglected factor on BHW. Since our mindsets are based on getting things done quick. But I've been following some competitors in other competitive local niches. A few specifically who are rocketing up the SERPs right not with very few links. These guys are competing against some powerhouse franchise sites. Going through their profiles I'm seeing links on the homepages of PBN sites anywhere between 3-7 years old. I'm also tracking the frequency they're building links and it's like 4-8 links / month max. But these old sites seem to pack A LOT of power.

2) Content. I can't state a direct correlation. All I know is when I first added my links I had like 3-5 pages on my sites. Didn't see much improvement. As time passed by and I added more and more content I noticed my money site increasing rankings. So again, not sure if this was age or Google taking the PBN sites more seriously, but make sure you got decent # of pages on the sites.

3) Recent links to PBNs. Sometimes you buy a PBN site with links 4-5 years old, reregister the site, but the site hasn't gotten any new links in years. So try hitting the sites up with current links. This is something sourcewave talks about quite a bit. Hitting the sites up with socials, web2.0, or other PBN links. Something I'm working on now.

4) Diversify. Don't do 7 PBN links in a row. Do 1 PBN link. Then a few other weaker, highly relevant links. Then another PBN. Mix them up.

5) Relevancy. We all know it's important. How relevant are the links on your PBN, relative to your money site?

How did you get that many, were you crawling like a maniac back in 2008?

I started buying them in a very "down period" of time in interest, from 2012 onward. 3 years is a long time to accumulate, though 700 or so of them were purchased in the first 2 years, I've still acquired about 400 more since..

I'd love to have a chat with you about point 3, pick your brain and discuss what you've found. I have a number of findings myself that I don't commonly share.

I'm torn, as always with people who sell SEO services, I'm sometimes skeptical of the information SourceWave presents because shortly after professing something works, they then offer a service that automates it for you, which I sometimes find a little too convenient. That being said, logically it makes a lot of sense to me.

What people often seem to overlook, including in this thread, is that Google has an 'intelligent' response to link building.

Some time ago, a member posted here on BHW a link to a blog that broke down in an easy-to-understand way the different response mechanisms that can be triggered in the Google algo, based on what it 'thinks' you're doing.

Those deliberate responses by the Google algo to new links range anywhere from;
- applying full positive effect immediately
- applying reverse effect temporarily (anywhere from days to months)
- applying negative effect permanently
- not applying any effect
- applying positive effect after a delay interval of 1-200 days

So, if you're seeing mixed results, or poor results, I suggest you spend some time thinking about how your link building 'looks' to Google, and which response you might be triggering, and how you might trigger the response you're looking for.

Makes sense. But in my case I pretty much reproduce everything from the money site to the pbn to a tee as what I've done many times to see a certain effect take place.

Im starting to think PBN age is the concern here.

Glad to see you've gotten results. But check to see if you're PBN is even indexed. If it's spammy, or an old PBN, it'll more than likely not re-index easily when you re-register it.

Are you getting them from auction or are you crawling for them if you dont mind me asking? Currently, I mean, or the most recent ones you got?

It seems to me that the SERPs jump could be the results of the PBN. You thought that your PBN was not working after just a few days (at the time I doubt if the posts were even indexed, did you social the posts etc?), then in the *next week or so, you added some blog comments, then just *a few days after this, SERPs jumped and you thought that's the direct results of the blog comments (I really doubt no follow blog comments can contribute to that). But maybe it was because the PBN posts were taking effect around the time (around a few weeks to a month range).
*Rough guess on timeline
