PBN not passing link juice?

So I'm building up my PBN at the moment. It's definitely not a very strong PBN, but it's not terrible either. There are no completely spammed domains, but most are not free from any spam. They are from TF 10-20 (subdomain) and DA 5-20.

While I have been registering these domains I'm also posting an article or two of content and another article that contains a link to my money site. I've had a few (around 7) links pointing to my money site for the past few days but not much movement in the SERPS.

I decided to delete the code blocking majestic, ahrefs, etc from one domain to see how much link juice was being passed. This was 2 or 3 days ago. I checked Majestic today to see that my CF went from 0 to 21 (subdomain), but that is from another link I created recently (blog comment). The PBN link is not showing up in Majestic (it's indexed of course). The PBN domain's metrics in majestic for subdomain is 31 CF 19 TF.

I'm wondering about the strength of my PBN if the site is not showing up in Majestic and 7 links is not doing much for it. One keyword that I am targeting only has a search volume of 140 but I am only on third page for it. Can anyone advise me please?

are you building other links? I made a 12 site pbn with similar stats to yours to see what the fuss was about, only moved me from like 25th to 22nd, thought fuk that for a laugh(living up to my name) but then a month later I spent like $40 on web 2.0s etc and now its 1st

You've got a lot of misconceptions buried in there.

1. You've associated link juice with TF: At best there is a correlation but TF does not = link juice.

2.TF and DA will tell you the quality of a domain: They can help but if all your links are from say pages with 200 outbound links on them, they mean close to nothing.

3. A few days will see a ranking movement: Maybe but usually no. Maybe a week, maybe two and some domains can take many more weeks to take full effect.

4. Your domains are not free from spam and that's okay: Very very rarely is that okay.

5. Blog comments will rank a website and CF shows this: Really no. Relevant blog comments may still perhaps maybe possible help but personally I'd only put stock in them being useful to diversify you link profile and dilute anchor text ratios.

Based on the above, re-evaluate your PBN. Are your PBN sites even indexed in just a few days? Did you remember to check that they've never been used in the past for nefarious purposes? Does your competition mean it's going to take a lot more than a few PBNs to see movement? Is your on-page SEO correct? There's so many variables.

Thanks for you help. I wasn't trying to associate CF or blog comments with ranking the website, just saying that the blog comment showed up in Majestic. And I know that's not helpful unless the ranking also goes up, I just wanted to point that out.

Interesting. Do you mean you bought high quality web 2.0s and used them as a PBN or you bought links from web 2.0s? Was it high quality or high quantity? Thanks for sharing

Nah I had/have a proper 12 site pbn with expired domains but those were the only links I'd sent to the url and it did next to nothing until I added more spammy types of links(web 2.0s,comments etc)

You should be using spam free domains with natural link profiles. If your PBN have spam links then they may have manual or algo penalties (hence why they were deleted). You also should check archive.org to make sure they were not previous chinese or other pbn sites now penalised. So in effect you may have toxic links pointing to your site. Again, you need clean, natural backlinks domains and also need some link diversity.

First stop is check that your pbn domains are once we. I find spammed domains don't get indexed.

Next it can take 3 weeks for links to affect ranking

Wow I'll look into this. You pointed the spammy links towards your money site though? Are we talking hundreds, thousands?

Is it possible that the domain has a penalty if it got indexed after I posted content to it?

Not the best idea to link from sites ex food/health related to tech website, it's 2015 google is not that stupid. Make niche related links.

Anytime Google does a big update to their algorithm (well mostly they just run a cleanup tool the underlying algorithm rarely changes) they turn off or slow down the reevaluation process, severely delaying any updates in ranks/positions and authority. Sometimes they just ignore the authority additions altogether it seems. It will take at least a month before you start seeing the crawler and ranking algorithm functioning normally again. This is a direct result of Google's piece meal approach to "fixing" things in their algorithm.

Google did roll back all of the Penguin updates, at least all but the most recent one. They have remained rolled back ever since that post was made. I heavily monitor such things.

However, I didn't even mention Penguin so.

Wow, even though it's still the same day, my site jumped from 107 to 45 for my main keyword! I'm very excited. I think this is because of the blog comment, even though it was a no follow.

Sorry but THIS is poor advice given you dont have access to the website in question or to the PBN sites to first be certain that both are actually clean and free of penalties, niche, KW difficluty etc before coming to a swift conclusion that ignores all other possibilities!

I made a thread about my 2nd pbn in the past week pointing to the same site not working, on a site where I know it should have given me a significant boost given the competition and past experience.

If quote is true that would make a lot of sense to me.

Your exact knowledge of the inner workings of a Google update is incredible, 'about a month'? Do go on. For anyone new to this forum or new to SEO beware of anyone who speaks with this level of certainty about anything, especially how a black box like a Google update works and especially when they aren't aware of any mitigating factors such as his on-page/PBN quality.

Back to reality though, my sites have been increasing as I've built more PBNs in the past 2 weeks, business as usual.
