PBN Footprint Question. Paranoid or Right On?

Hello All. This is my first post here. I've been doing a PBN for about 4 months now and it works well. I've followed all of the PBN footprint advice to help eliminate any chance of having my PBN get exposed.

I use the PBN for two clients, but I have four websites for each client. That means that on each PBN, I've got 10 links on the home page, 8 links to my clients' websites, and 2 to 4 links to other authoritative websites.

As an example, lets say I have two surgeons for clients. Both surgeons have four websites each, with each website concentrating on a certain type of surgery (brain/stomach/ect). So, on one PBN, the home page might talk all about Surgery. It links to four sites by one surgeon, four sites by another surgeon, and a couple of random authoritative sites on the home page. On the inner pages, some will link to different pages on those same websites, other posts will link to random authoritative surgery pages.

Is this too obvious? Since things are working, I don't want my entire PBN and client's sites to be jeapordized.

When you say "On the inner pages, some will link to different pages on those same websites" do you mean your clients website?

If so that could be a little red flag linking to the same site more than 1 time.

As long as the link is on the homepage you don't have to link to your clients pages again, just increases the risk.

If you aren't linking 2 times then everything you said seems to be fine and you will be ok.

Thanks. Yes. I'm linking to the home page on the PBN site home, then to the a couple inner pages on the PBN blogs. Is that bad? Alex becker recommended it saying that it helps reduce footprint. I thought the same thing though!

It's weird to think that there is no footprint because it seems really obvious that all of the sites linked from each site on my PBN are owned by the same couple of people. Like if you go to one of my PBNs and click on the first link, it would take you to (example) a brain surgery website for Bob Macadoo. The next link takes you to (example) a stomach surgery website for Bob Macadoo. The next link takes you to a foot surgery website by Frank Funkyface. The nest link takes you to a leg surgery website by Frank Funkyface. And so on and so forth.

Am I just being paranoid? Is this really something I shouldn't worry about? Thanks again.

Yes, it's an obvious footprint, linking to all of the same sites on each PBN sites, particularly when they're owned by the same people.

It's not as obvious as it would be if the sites were all about different subjects; having them all about surgery will make it *more* possible that the sites will escape detection, but probably wouldn't save you on a full manual inspection.

It's better than what some people do, but there's still a footprint and risk. (Of course, there's always risk, but that's another story - after all, this is is BHW, not WHW.

All homepage links is a footprint, yes. And having the same sites linked on every PBN site is too. This is often how public PBNs get hit, they have 100 sites and on all 100 sites they have the same 40 links on each site because they have too small of a network. Don't be greedy.
