So wtf is the deal with the hat colours? I mean, I get white/black (something to do with star wars, isn't it?) but what's blue? And is yellow even a thing? I mean, I could go and google it but after one of the posts in here I don't feel comfortable searching if it's going to end up with purple helmets.

99% of the things you can do (by searching around this forum to learn) are all blackhat. Its all blackhat, greyhat is just blackhat who don't want to admit they are black.

Seriously, you can actually google it. There's loads of coloured hats & most of it is just demarcation rubbish. From what I could see, it's something like this:

You got your white hat goody-two shoes, the blue-hat tech nerds, the yellow hat social media wannabes, the red-hat aggressive backlinking jocks, the green-hat anti-establishment emos and, over in the corner, you'll find us blackhats, aka the greatest people you will ever meet.
