hekke's Amazon Affiliate Journey

Personally I prefer journeys that are update daily with quick summaries of what's been done on that day/the income for that day, but that's just me.

Nice to see you working hard man!

Hi hekke, still following. I would like to hear some more about traffic numbers, if you have any.

you are only 16 and you made so much money. This motivates me, I am 18 and just started with IM. I am going to follow this thread,
Good luck
That's what I love about IM! It doesn't matter what age you are or where you live. We all can succeed. I started doing IM about 1,5 years ago now. I've been working day and night for some projects that didn't even make me profit at all, so you really got to accept fails and work even harder next time.

I know that before you actually receive some money out of this people won't believe that this is something that you actually can make a living off. Just don't mind those and you'll laugh at them in a year or so from now. Best of luck! :)
Where do you buy articles from? And how is the quality like?

Thanks.
I previously said that I didn't want to promote any services. I know that there are great content writers on here, both for a tight budget but also for those that have a huge budget. It all depends on if you want high-quality articles or is OK with decent ones. For review-articles, I use decent ones and for best of-articles I use high-quality articles. The decent ones should of course not be spurn and actually written from an human being - otherwise you might risk a "thin content" penalization from Google.

Alright, I think I will do daily or every other day updates. I also prefer that as you can see in which pace I am working to receive the goals. Thanks for the input!

Hi hekke, still following. I would like to hear some more about traffic numbers, if you have any.
Hey, yes, totally forgot about the traffic. Below you'll see how many Amazon clicks, orders, traffic, earnings and search engine traffic I have gotten from this site, this month.

Traffic/Search engine traffic = users

RED
Traffic: 31
Search engine traffic: 22
Amazon clicks: 31
Amazon orders: 3
Earnings: $12.07

BLUE
Traffic: 901
Search engine traffic: 4
Amazon clicks: 48
Amazon orders: 0
Earnings: $0

I am going to explain why it is such a big difference. Well, I wrote one post and posted it on Reddit. After 2-3 days I had around 890 visitors on my website through that post. It didn't really make it big in any way, it only got about 30 up votes or something but the traffic is huge on Reddit so even that can bring some traffic.

UPDATE
I just got back home from a weekend visit at my grandpa, cousins and uncle. On the way home I lost my bag which had my VISA, keys and metro card. Normally, having a locked debit card would make it impossible to order articles but not in my case. It is all about building up trust, paying on point and after a while your writer will build up a trust for you. Then you can ask if you could pay when you get the card back, which is normally after 2-3 days in my case.

Right now my plan is to upload all the articles I received today and after that go to sleep. I will order more articles tomorrow as me and my writer finally got almost all of the orders sorted. Tomorrow I promised to start my link building campaign - which won't happen due to that I lost my debit card. Although, I can write a post about what I am planning to do and maybe start doing some outreach to authority sites in my niche.

Until next time,
hekke

Great start so far, hopefully these sites hit what your current site is making XD

Thanks! By the looks of the competition, this will be an easy match. BLUE's competitor makes $200-$300 a month, with his 6 links and 10 articles. I will also target 6+ types of that product with keywords that all got weak competition - this will be fun! :)

best of luck with amazon man :D
Thank you! :)

UPDATE
The previous night I sat up to publish/schedule everything for the sites. I also outsourced two best of articles for BLUE, one of the niches that I targeted got Facebook pages ranking on first page and the product costs $x,xxx. Even 1-2 sales a month would get me $100-$200 extra which is good. But with all the keywords used for this article, I should be able to crush out more sales/month.

Today I will outsource 2 homepages for the sites. I currently got the recent posts on the front page but I prefer to have a static homepage. Might do a "Best of every type"-article and use a lot of keywords + link into my inner pages in it. I don't really know how and if I am going to use a static page yet as these are multi-niche websites, not just one niche, so I got no previous experience in what the best option is.

Next update later today will be about my link-building campaign. Will write it up later today as I got to get to the "Found goods"-section of the terminal now. Let's hope they found it!

Until next time,
hekke

Sorry if this is a stupid question Hekke.

" BLUE's competitor makes $200-$300 a month, with his 6 links and 10 articles. "

How did you get this data? Thanks and keep going!!!

That is not a stupid question at all. I will teach you a neat trick that I use to get some of the competitors data to be able to understand the potential if I rank on their position. This might be obvious to some but I am sure some are unaware of this trick.
....
hekke

That is a pretty slick move there! Could probably be used in the research phase for other projects... Thanks for being willing to share that tidbit! Good luck with all you have going on.. Great to see there is some success thus far...

Thanks,

Very interesting journey hekke. You plan to do a silo structure for your website?

I was wondering if my blog will do good with a silo structure. My blog is just like any other blog, I only have my keyword in the title and some posts. Will it be good to make the following site structure?

homepage with long 2000-3000 word article about the blog and niche, somewhere insert the popular posts from the blog, on the menu, add the blog categories and link to the blog section of the site.

The content from the homepage it will have 1 big article with 1 video, a few pictures, infographics, and quotes.
I am a little afraid of changing the blog structure because I rank on page 1 for a few keywords. Maybe find more keywords? !?!?

What do you think about this hekke?

I am getting into amazon and I was looking yesterday for an comparison chart plugin but I didin't find anything.
Is this something I make with a simple grid or is there any plugin for that?

I thought about siloing the site at first but to be honest, I didn't understand anything. I put the format how I am building my sites in on the first post. I guess it might not be the best structure but I don't really know how to make a better structure, heh.

I know that silo can have a great impact on on-page SEO, that's for sure. I don't really understand if you already rank 1 for the main keywords you want to build your silo structure on, then I don't really see the point in it. I would say that you should try that setup and if your ranking is negatively impacted, switch back.

It seems to be almost the same setup I got, if I understood it correctly. And that setup have been working fine for all of my sites so far, so I don't see why it wouldn't for you. Best of luck! :)

I use Tablepress, it is free and easy to manage. I have a post on the first page how I format my comparison charts, in case you missed that. Good luck!

Thank you for great post.
I have a question : once you've seen how many backlinks the competitor got and rank?

Good lord, you're 16? I wish I had been as creative and entrepreneurial as you when I was 16. Thanks for your guide and comments. Good stuff!

Huh? I don't really understand the question. Please rephrase your question and I will do my best to answer it! :)

Heh, I have always been involved with websites and everything around internet. I had my first domain & blog when I was 6 or so... I guess I am influenced by my mother as she have always worked with things around internet. I recently got her to rank #1 for a great keyword for her business, heh.

Thanks for the kind words, I truly appreciate it! :)

You guys should check out the plug-in "WP EZ Silo". I've just started working with it and it seems pretty straightforward. It costs $15 I think.

Thanks for the recommendation. I will try it out when I get my debit card back! :)

Sorry for not writing the link building post yesterday. I will try to get it up tonight as I am about to head out. I got a clear picture on what I want to say in the post, just got to write it down with words. I will be as detailed as possible in the post so that you can stop me if I am doing something the wrong way.

Until next time,

Keep up the good work Hekke. I'm getting back into amazon myself and this has been a breath of fresh air. Very motivating.
I'm trying to get some writers to follow the format you provided. I've been following your journey, thanks again for all the info.
I'm sure good things will come your way...you deserve it. Take care.

one question, I am currently using click bank and not many people buy as CB pages look shitty and spammy. I am thinking of shifting to Amazon but I am not sure yet because the site is fairly new with not much traffic. My initial plan was to go with click bank and when i start to get organic traffic i will switch to Amazon but not getting any sales from CB is really de-motivating So what do you suggest?
