Bummer. I played DiamondStrike for almost 4 hours last night, getting pretty good at it, only to realize that cash play isn't available in my area. Before anyone gives this a try, I would suggest making sure cash play is available in your area:

I wasn't aware of this. My bad for leaving it out.

Does this still work ? I mean if I plan to join this kind of earning method right now - Do I have a chance to get into leaderboards as a new kid on the block or I have no chance again experienced players? Probably there is a new game that you could suggest ? Thank you

I've seen you on a lot more in the last few days. I've lost to you several times lol.
Yeah I go on and off with my play times haha. This week I'm going pretty hard and trying to crack the learderboards everyday for the next 4 or 5 days

Thanks, seems like a good idea.

No problem! PM me or post here if you need any help or suggestions :)

Yes, assuming you get decent at the game (you can play practice matches or low stakes) then you can easily compete at higher levels. My suggestion would be to get good in your spare time, throw on a bit of cash, and work your way up from small stakes and once you can play $10 or $20 games shoot for the leaderboards to earn the big bucks.

Yeah, it's a profitable skill to master in your free time. And the practice games make that possible without risking your $$$

I played a considerable amount of skillz games in 2014. This "method" does will NOT work and you are all wasting your time and money if you attempt it. On all matches, skillz takes 16.67% of the entry fee as their cut. This means you will need to win 66.67% of your games to be profitable. This is especially problematic because the matchmaking system in skillz is not random. From their FAQ:

We use specific algorithms to match players based on ability level a to make sure that every tournament is fair. Sometimes this can take up to a few days.

If for some reason we can't find a worthy opponent for you, the tournament will be cancelled and your cash or Z entry will be refunded. You will never be charged an entry fee for a game that is not completed. We would rather refund your money than pair you with someone whose skill level is not a match.

Essentially, their system keeps placing you against opponents of incrementing skill until your win percentage settles at around 50%... And that's where the problem lies. If your win percentage is 50%, you are losing 16.67% of all money that you put in. Because of this, it is actually impossible to be profitable long term on skillz, let alone to the degree that OP has described.

Even best case scenario... Let's say you're the greatest player in the world, capable of beating everyone else 100% of the time. You will still not be able to make money on skillz! Remember what the FAQ said? "We would rather refund your money than pair you with someone whose skill level is not a match." The system will NOT match you against an opponent, ever, because there is no one else in your skill bracket. I personally ran into this issue back when I played. My win percentage was >90% and one day I just stopped getting matched against people. My matches would sit in "pending" for days and then I'd receive a refund.

The other "benefits" OP described are basically worthless too. Regarding ticketz, you get about 83 ticketz per dollar put in. A $25 target gift card costs 470,000 tickets. That means you have to put $5662 into the system, with an expected long term loss of $943, to get a $25 gift card. A "ticket multiplier" system exists within the game, but it never gets high enough to matter. Brackets are no good either. Similar to ticketz, to reap any benefit from them, you have to put in way more money than you could ever hope to win back. Bonus cash (if you have it) decreases the aforementioned 16.67% loss by a bit, but not nearly enough. It just makes you lose less money.

TLDR: OP is likely a paid shill for this company, it is impossible to be long term profitable on skillz. Go find something else to do.

Their total rake on each match is 20%, 10% from each player. You have to have a win rate of higher than 60%. With a max ticket multiplier which is easily attainable you earn 16.7% of your rake back for gift cards, almost 30% for bonus cash. Which of course puts your needed win rate below 60%. On top of this you earn weekly leaderboard bonuses and if you're good enough daily leaderboard bonuses. All of which drop your needed win rate. Seeing as I consistently earn money with a 60% win rate and have over more than 10,000 games you fail to understand how the system works. There are methods to make it more profitable beyond being good at the game. This is what I discussed in the OP but you probable skimmed it or read it without actually comprehending any of the information presented.

With the proper strategy for collecting tickets, earning bonus cash, and cashing on the leaderboards you can see a long term profit being a "break even" player.

Skillz has changed so much since 2014 and now offers many more options to make significantly more money which thus covers any losses and actually reflects a profit.

But so be it, you think that, and i'll keep enjoying cashing $2000 checks regularly and looking at the $1000+ balance on my amazon account.

Oh forgot to mention the daily tournaments they run multiple times a day. Where a score of 278-300 can make you $20-90 with an entry fee of $2-5. Which usually occur 5+ times a day

For a $0.60 cent match they're taking $0.20 out of a pot of $1.20. That's 16.67%, not 20%. You are right about the break-even point being 60%, I mistakenly added the rake to 50% when I posted that. A max ticket multiplier is not "easy to attain." To get to the second ticket multiplier, you need to put in $200, with an expected loss of $33.34. It only goes up exponentially from there, AND it resets every month. Having a max ticket multiplier and bonus cash cuts the rake in half - so what? You're still expected to loss money. Cashing on the leaderboards is not a viable strategy either, as that is funded by the rake. The only sliver of truth in your post in the daily tournaments. Yes, those can be profitable if you're good enough. But it's not nearly worth the time investment needed to do so. And even then, your odds aren't great. The entry fee to payout ratio is awful on those.

Skillz pays out significantly less than they take in, and the matchmaking system makes it so any sort of long term profitability is nigh impossible. But, asssuming you're not bullshitting us, maybe you've found some way to game the system that you're not sharing? The way the game will be played by any member of this forum will nowhere close to the way you're playing the game, and will most certainly be a losing proposition. Shame on you.

OP I have a question regarding the leader board. The dollar amount next to my name, is that how much I've spent playing? Or the amount of cash I get once the leader board resets?

If I tried this I would play like a fool and lose a couple small games to real bad players. Then sign up for a bigger game and they would probably match you up with the worst player and you could beat him easy.
