How do you get motivated?

my motivation: i didn't know when i dead, so do the best for every time

If you have a purpose, you get the motivation as a bonus. So, you need to work on finding your purpose, not motivation.

This is Golden. When you have something in sight (say a vivid future) you just have this shifting to a mindset where you need to continue doing the things that will one day realize it. We all know it doesn't happen overnight. That's the beauty of it all. When you plant a grapefruit tree, you have to wait a long time, though you REAP the fruit for as long as you live. Same goes with your business. Find your purpose, then research and figure out what you need to do day in and day out to allow the Universe to construct it for you. It won't build itself. And if you are stuck, then you need to figure out WHY you want to do it. Drifting won't determine your why.

Best of luck :)

I agree, that right there is a solid one-liner. I do have an idea, and since I've read that single line a good ten minutes ago, I've been running around in my own head, constructing my ideal life, my future, purpose, objectives, whatever you want to call them, in order to get a clear vision of it.
Thank you for your kind and wise words. It's what I needed.

This.... everyone at some point will be at this stage. Also it's not only the rich who may be at this stage... even a homeless person can be comfortable being homeless as they will get used to it and get sucked up in the routine along with the vicious cycle that comes with it.

It's all about how ambitious you are. Though not everyone wants to be a millionaire.

I understand what you're saying. And the worst part is that I've already seen what it feels like to have that kind of ambition. And I can say it felt amazing, it was like a drug for me, but then, as I got in a more financially-secure place, I got better at being "normal", and I kind of lost that drug. Now I want it back, with all the benefits with which it came along, and I can't seem to feel it anymore.

you are SO CLOSE to the right set of mind, think about all of this:

you want the awesome body, the cool hot chick, the MONEY

you can have ALL OF THIS!!!

what you need is ***INFORMATION*** and ***WORK***! But for how long? FOREVER!!!

read some pick-up artist books, I'm SERIOUS! From this you will learn A LOT, and it will help achieve the great body and getting girls! this will get you MOTIVATED, ***IF**** you PRACTICE what you LEARN!!

read a LOT about making money online, find a good method that you like, search a LOT for it to find some improves and twistes, and start DOING IT! ***TONIGHT***!!!!!!! I'm serious, the best way to do something, it's simply doing it!! Just understand that it wil NOT be EASY and you'll be ready to WORK HARD!!!

but the MOST IMORTANT thing is to know that you will need a LOT of ***INFORMATION*** and ***HARD WORK***

It is a simple formula:

INFORMATION = MOTIVATION = THE MOST POWERFUL FUEL OF THE HUMAN BEING!!!!!!

WORK = RESULTS = *** MONEY $$$$$$$******

Start today OP, allow yourself to have the life of your dreams, it is up to you!

Hey man, thanks for the reply. I've read a lot of books on pickup in the past, when I was like 18-19. I always thought they don't work, but surprisingly, it *indirectly* got me my first gf, and the next after that ....
I say indirectly, because the tricks they cite didn't actually help me, but it's the mindset that helped me, and the realisation that a mindset is so powerful was groundbreaking for me, as it meant being more confident, acting differently , and basically being a whole new, better version of myself. Since then I've learned that I actually have a rather good ... "score" in the dating game, and I feel so confident, like I could get any girl. I would be lying if I said I didn't wish it would be that easy with IM, too. I mean, just to think back about how I felt before actually getting a girlfriend, so incredibly different from now, about the possibility of actually getting one, and most importantly, about my own power in getting a girl to like me, in succeeding in that one task that I had in mind. Now I think it's just a piece of cake, a matter of compatibility, nothing simpler !
If, by a miracle, one day, I will look back to this moment, and think the same about IM, it would be truly amazing. But this isn't a story, nor a movie, this is real life, and IM means more than getting a girlfriend and getting my d*ck wet. It's so much more than that.
I will try and take into consideration your formula, man, seems so simple when you put it like that. And another thing, what you said about starting today, I already have. thank you.

Think for today so you can live for tomorrow ;)

Motivational speeches make me roll my eyes.

I like to freelance because:

A. I hate corporate and everything about the structure
B. I am better (and prefer) working in a customer-provider engagement rather than some asshole middle manager telling me what I need to do
C. Money
D. I like things

I look at it this way: I can slack off at a real job or I can work my ass off and be a star. Both ways will get me the same paycheck every week. If I'm a star, maybe one day I won't get laid off anyway and I'll get a 5-10% raise in a few years if I'm lucky. With freelancing, I can bust my ass one week and make more or I can decide to slack off for a few days and get paid less. I control my environment and not some douchebag suit who doesn't even know my name.

I like the way you like, and a few years back, I would've completely agreed with you. But right now, I have mixed feelings about freelancing, since, from my personal experience, and I'm not saying that's how it happens, but it's what happened to me, or at least I feel so, you replace one douchebag suit, by a few dozens douchebag suits, and they all treat you the same way. Sure, I could get a week of if I wanted to. Unless one client had his site down, or he wanted some changes, or something went wrong, in which case, I had the option to choose from:
A) answering the phone, interrupting my possible holidays, and do the work he needs, or
B) not answer his call, and lose a client, which, as a freelancer, is as bad as shooting yourself in the foot with your own gun.

What I am really looking after right now, rather than freelancing, which I still do, on the side, on a much smaller scale, is a business to call my own, anything IM related, but I've got a few ideas where to start. Something that would let me not wake up in the morning if I so desire, and that would let me do what I love, and call it work, and actually profit from it!
I know motivational speeches usually don't work, but since I started this thread, I've been rolling ideas around in my head, and I'm really glad I started it. I got some really good advice, and I'm off to a brand new start. well, almost.
Anyway, thanks for your reply, man.
I'm off to sleep, tomorrow's gonna be a busy day.
Thank you all, guys. I sincerely appreciate it.
I'm going to enroll in a master's degree, too, but only next year. what field are you in? I don't know if that would apply to me. I am going to study in Italy next year, and here in Europe, studies at public Universities are basically free (except some small taxes at the beginning of school years), and I don't really worry right now, financially. where are you from?
I have a computer science degree and I'm applying for a Master in videogames programing in Canada and in Spain, I'm fucked up because I'm from Venezuela, I have to pay tuition, housing , etc. That is why earn even 1USD gets me closer to my goal

This is an interesting one since everyone has their own ways. For me, I seem to be the most motivated when I'm working in the office... I know this because I have worked from home before and found it hard to stay motivated at times. That means if you have a telecommuting job or if you are your own boss, consider getting a small office for yourself, or a co-working space away from home to isolate yourself and separate work from home.

If you absolutely MUST work from home, then dress up in work appropriate clothes instead of PJ's. And if you find yourself slacking, then consider having set working hours for yourself.
