How Many Are Upgrading to Windows 10?

No love for Ubuntu? :-/ Weird.

I'm not a big a fan of the latest Ubuntu release, it appears cartoonish, reorged everything and runs slower. Not sure what they were thinking. May try Mint next.

I already am using windows 10 have been using it for almost 2months now, their developers issue, its crazy, We got cortana and everything i can say 100 times better than windows 8

Do they have the command line install+update yet?

Yeah, I am upgrading from Windows 7 but mainly for Direct X 12.

If I manage to make some decent money, I'll definitely build a better rig.

I'll probably be waiting until at least this black friday to get a new rig, if there is some really nice stuff then.

This video shows how much hardware has really been bottenecked by dx11.

That's incredible. I hope some older games support it as well to get the most out of them.

Never ever ever will I allow that monstrosity that is Microsoft anywhere near my machines.

This is a new ploy to turn their current one off payment monetisation method into a subscription model, the same with their cloud computing rubbish.

I think that was everybody's fear and Microsoft made it clear there would not be a reversion to a subscription service in the future for Windows 10. But hey its Microsoft and sometimes anything goes!

I heard that you can't use pirated software on Windows 10? Or is it a lie?

Definitely a lie. How would MS have any clue (or better yet care) if the software you are using is a genuine copy or altered in any way.

There is literally a 0% chance of them having any way to prevent you running pirated software, whoever told you that is dumber than a rock.

It will be hard to use pirated Metro apps but that is already the case in windows 8 but again still not impossible and with the popularity of Win10 over win8 that is only going to get easier.

Linux doesn't have any good programs on it, its only good for home server.

What kind of programs? Games? Then you are right. Almost all production tools (codering) have a linux version. So I am pretty fine.

I am running Ubuntu LTS 14.04

Linux mint xfce edition is the best.

Will try that out once.

I would wait a year or two before upgrading. Currently i've windows 8.1

I found a exploit in windows 10 in a forum a few days ago, so i think it's better to wait.

I will upgrade too, the DX12 will be great for gaming. The things they said abou dx12 during E3 will be nice.

Is this keylogging feature going to be a permanent feature of win10?

sneaky little bastards, nah not really, because w/o knowing this exact case, i'm pretty sure that it is included in the terms which you agree to before you can use the service

similar thing happened not too long ago when MS released this 2 online tool, #HowOldRobot and #TwinsOrNotRobot, where a lot of people uploaded their pics after agreeing to the terms (without reading it thoroughly), which contained that MS can use the uploaded pics anyway they see fit lol
