Weird PayPal Limitation?

Hi all the expert out there,

I have been using PayPal for 7 years without any problem. I dont use it in eBay. I use it on my retail website to collect payment.

Yesterday I got an email from PayPal saying that my account is limited.

"Your PayPal account has been permanently limited because some of your recent transaction violated our User Agreement and Acceptable Use Policy, both of which you agreed to when signing up for your PayPal account."

...and this limitation cannot be appealed.

I just collect payment as usual when customer checkout from my website. How do I violated the policy? I really don't understand. I go to the resolution centre, nothing that. Something like my account is locked up and cannot be use anymore.

Anyone facing this kind of problem as well?

I also met situation the same you. They limit our account anytime they doubt without any reasons. Maybe you should make another paypal account.

Seriously?! This is the way PayPal treat their seller ? oh my god. Do you think I can withdraw my balance after 6 month ? Such a ridiculous limitation.

Have you tried to call the paypal customer support..?

No appeal, no chance. Move on and create a new account. Something you did must have warranted a permanent limitation.

I know people who have had their accounts limited before due to large sums of money being moved but that is while paypal check that nothing shady is goijng on and they lift it. But to slap that on your account without any real reason is crazy, you should at least be able to get your funds out, contact support and try find out why they did it.

I have 2 accounts permanently limited without any reason. You need to wait for 180 days to withdraw funds,

Is this a business account? This is really weird. You didn't put PayPal on anything illegal or suspicious did you?

I would call them. Not even a chance to send in documentation? That's really weird.

180 days? Time is precious. Paypal is ridiculous sometimes.

PayPal will never tell you why you got limited. They give you general statements on the limitation so it is best not put much weight on it.

In this case, we have the same issue. If you are accepting the payments directly from your website and you have had previous accounts limited before, then the domain ends up getting blacklisted which further causes issues with accepting payments.

If there is a way for your customers to send payment without checking out through your website, it would cause less issues.
