The OP wrote a great post, but I agree with skyrocketSEO that I wouldn't qualify based on the ten criteria. Different personalities do freelance work, and most clients I have worked with are actually fine with the hands-off, low contact approach to working assignments. I find showing them previous work, then explaining my process and schedule upfront takes care of most of the communication and qualifying problems, and maintaining email contact displays my command of English, sales, and current SEO skills.
So for every T0mmy who has legit reasons for the intense requirements, I run across 9 or 10 who are just overbearing, control freak time wasters. I say vive la difference and let the "we've got to skype every day" buyers work with similar sellers, while the more easy going buyers keep working with the easy going freelancers.
