I thought that a logo would be better, but it seems that it only works good for nsfw sites already branded(playboy,brazzers etc.) or whitehat projects trying to look official and then it would have to be a decent logo not something created by an amatuer using a cheap logo maker.

I think it depends, if its for a brand like a website models might be better.

hot pics definitely works, it works for anything, what you need to think about is if the people that will follow an account with a hot pic are your target niche

I don't use female profile pics, but recently many religious accounts started following me, I think it's because I followed someone from their target list.
